ING, Australia’s most recommended bank is seeking a Senior Manager – Commercial Real Estate Credit Risk to join our 2nd Line Credit Risk function to be one of our leading Subject Matter Experts supporting the growing Business Banking division.

This key role supports the middle market commercial property finance portfolio, conducting transactional credit assessment for new / existing customers of up to AUD 90m. Everything from green lighting proposals, risk ratings, annual reviews and credit modifications. You will also be responsible for credit policy design and implementation as well as monitoring and reporting of risk appetite tolerances across the portfolio, in addition to proactive engagement on Watch List and Restructuring / Recovery matters.  

2025 will be a huge year of growth for ING Business Banking and this is a key role in supporting a high performing, experienced team.

What you’ll do

  • Transactional credit assessment for new / existing clients up to AUD 90m in the CPF portfolio, including Green Light proposals, Risk Ratings, Annual Reviews, Credit Modifications, applications for new monies / increases / renewals
  • Credit policy and underwriting guideline design and implementation including relevant changes in ING Group policy settings
  • Supporting the loan loss provisioning and risk cost reporting process for the Business Banking Commercial Property Finance portfolio
  • Supporting the implementation of new rating system and credit risk models for the Commercial Real Estate businesses (which includes CPF)  
  • Setting, monitoring and reporting of Risk Appetite tolerances and triggers across the Business Lending portfolios, including all portfolio reporting to Credit Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee / Board of Directors

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years in an Institutional or Business Banking Credit Risk function with scope including commercial real estate financing in the middle market or institutional market
  • Alternatively 7+yrs experience in 1st line commercial real estate business in the middle market or institutional market
  • High level of comfort with APRA prudential standards pertaining to the capital regime, and credit risk models for regulatory and loan loss provisioning outputs
  • Awareness and ability to act on legislation or regulatory changes and requirements
  • An ability to work effectively with senior executives
