As Tribe Lead Insurance, you will lead the strategy and execution of insurance solutions for ING’s private and business clients in Belgium, ensuring they are relevant, digital-first, and seamlessly integrated into our customer journeys.
You will be the effective leader for insurance in Belgium, reporting hierarchically to the Head of Private Individuals Belgium, and being part of the Management team of Private Individuals.
You will collaborate with your teams, local and global stakeholders, and strategic partners (AXA, NN) to deliver innovative propositions and drive digital transformation in the insurance domain.

A day in the life of a Tribe Lead Insurance

As Tribe Lead Insurance, you will:

  • Define and execute the insurance strategy for Belgium, aligned with ING’s Together for Progress vision.

  • Steer the organization towards financial and commercial performance

  • Lead digital transformation of insurance products and distribution, ensuring seamless integration in ING’s digital channels.

  • Drive growth and innovation through marketing and cross-buy initiatives to boost insurance penetration across segments.

  • Manage strategic partnerships and contracts with third parties (AXA, NN), overseeing the full insurance value chain.

  • Monitor market developments, customer needs and competitive landscape, and translate insights into actionable strategies and product innovations

  • Champion compliance and risk management, safeguarding ING’s reputation and customer trust

  • Inspire and develop talent, fostering craftsmanship and a culture of ownership and growth.

We look for a senior leader who:

  • Has a proven track record in strategic leadership, digital transformation, and stakeholder management.

  • Shows a proven ability to define and execute an insurance strategy aligned with ING’s overall objectives

  • Has a deep knowledge of the Belgian insurance market, including regulatory frameworks, product landscape and distribution models

  • Has the ability to influence and steer at senior leadership level, including stakeholder management towards senior executives and external partners

  • Understands organizational dynamics and adapts leadership style to different contexts.

  • Makes bold, data-driven decisions and connects delivery to customer impact.

  • Is a natural coach and motivator, with strong communication and people leadership skills.

  • Holds a master’s degree and has 5–8 years of senior management experience in insurance.

  • Meets FSMA requirements (minimum 1 year experience with an insurance distributor or reinsurer).

  • Is fluent in English (Dutch or French is a plus).
