Job Overview

  • The Test Engineer IV delivers high-quality IT applications and services by designing, developing, and executing advanced testing solutions across multiple platforms. This role sits within a Test Enablement or Central Testing team supporting various squads across the organization.
    The Test Engineer IV works closely with developers, IT integrators, product owners, and other cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure robust end‑to‑end test coverage and reliable delivery. The role reports to the Chapter Lead for Test Automation or a similar engineering leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated tests and frameworks for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Collaborate with developers, IT integrators, and cross‑functional teams to ensure comprehensive end‑to‑end test coverage.
  • Execute test cases, analyze results, and troubleshoot complex defects across distributed environments.
  • Continuously improve test processes, tools, and automation practices to increase reliability and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of CI/CD pipelines and support shift‑left testing practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid‑level test engineers.
  • Support multiple squads as part of a centralized Test Enablement model, ensuring consistent testing standards and tooling adoption.

Key Capabilities/Experience

  • Extensive experience in test automation design, development, and execution across large-scale distributed systems or microservices environments.
  • Strong background in functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Hands-on experience with testing tools, automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and influence quality outcomes.
  • Experience working in agile delivery environments with modern engineering practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Java; nice to have experience in Bash or Python scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, or other BDD tools.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools like Gatling or JMeter.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps (preferred).
  • Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization and orchestration platforms (nice to have).
  • Nice to have knowledge of messaging systems such as ActiveMQ or Kafka, including related testing strategies.
  • Nice to have knowledge of Spring Boot.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • High attention to detail, sense of ownership, and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of payment systems or financial services is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
