Job Profile Summary

  • Vice President within the Loan Distribution Group, Asia-Pacific team to be based in Singapore.
  • Loan Distribution Group, Asia-Pacific (“LDG APAC”) is an integral part of ING’s Capital Markets and Advisory team, with the key objective of supporting the ING Sector and Lending teams in the Asia-Pacific region (occasionally outside this region) in securing financing mandates (typically syndicated loans) where the financing requirement is greater than ING’s capacity or willingness to provide it on a stand-alone basis.
  • The type of transactions the department is involved with ranges from plain vanilla corporate loans to various highly structured facilities, arranged either on an underwritten or a best efforts basis. 
  • LDG APAC is organised as one team, currently operating in 3 locations – Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney.
  • This role is to be based in Singapore, focusing primarily on the SE Asian market and assisting the Director, LDG in Singapore along with the broader APAC team in securing and executing key mandates across the ING sectors.  NB: while the position will be Singapore based, the Vice President may be asked to get involved in non-SE Asian transactions as well, depending on deal flow.
  • Reporting line to the Head of Loan Distribution Group, APAC.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand and interpret current credit market trends across the SE Asian and APAC region.
  • Liaising and supporting Sector and Lending teams based in Singapore / APAC in assessing, pitching and executing key transactions.
  • Interacting and balancing activities with other team members located in APAC.
  • Regular pitching at client meetings including market updates and potential options / solutions.
  • Acting as key deal team member on behalf of LDG APAC during the origination and execution of syndicated loans; this role may include:
    • Providing structuring, pricing and syndication advice to Sector and Lending teams integral team member in developing key client pitches, inc. term sheets, syndication strategy slide.
    • Assessing both Primary/ Secondary market opportunities - liaising with APAC LDG team members.
    • Drafting syndication advice and facilitating relevant approval of syndication positions.
    • Assisting with the syndication process from mandate to financial close, including coordination with LDG team members across APAC, as applicable.
    • Maintaining appropriate records of all deal/ market and investor information including various management information systems, incl. DebtDomain.
    • Managing and developing relationships with key banks/ investors active across the APAC loan market.
    • Supporting LDG team members in Europe and the Americas, if relevant.
    • Fulfilling other responsibilities as specified from time to time by the Head of LDG APAC.
    • Always acting according to ING’s policies and procedures.

What we're looking for:

  • Relevant Degree qualification.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in a financial institution with loan syndication experience (incl. leveraged finance) in APAC preferable.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Good analytical capabilities - must have an eye for detail, be thorough and meticulous.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and confident with a high degree of initiative.
  • High computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Excellent team player.
