WB Capital & Models plays a central role in the execution of the Wholesale Banking (WB) strategy. The department focuses on optimizing the WB Balance Sheet, Capital and Funding positions and acts as Business Model Owner for the WB Credit Risk Models. The department will also play a central role in the analytics and pricing of the WB Lending products.

WB Capital & Models consists of 7 teams: (1) WB Capital Management, (2) WB Capital Planning, (3) WB Reporting & Analytics (4) Expert Team Large Corporate and Financial Institutions (5) Expert Team Specialized Lending (6) Expert Team Scoping & Defaults (7) Expert Team Regulatory Transformation.

Role and responsibilities

WB Capital Planning (WB CP) establishes long-term direction and goals of the WB Balance Sheet, Capital & Funding position, as well as the definition of the long-term risk appetite. The team is pivotal in the realization of the WB Capital Velocity ambition and works in close cooperation with Sectors and Lending.

As a WB CP team member you will:

  • Shape the future WB asset portfolio composition and profitability, considering broader bank interests such as the mix of regulatory capital, economic capital, and output floor.
  • Provide insights into the WB RWA portfolio through current trends, impact analyses, and forecasts for WB Sectors and Lending, WB Balance Sheet Committee, Capital Velocity MT, Models, and Risk Management Committee.
  • Set long-term WB capital planning and determine the optimal funding and capital mix, considering regulatory, economic and output floor capital, at sector and location levels.
  • Represent the WB in WB RWA envelope allocation across a.o. sectors, products, and locations; drive the envelope review process and facilitate necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure understanding of WB RWA across the bank and drive alignment with the Regulatory Transformation Expert Team, Group Treasury, Finance, and Risk.
  • Take an active role in loan distribution projects by setting long-term distribution strategies with Sectors and Lending at the sector and location levels.
  • Manage long-term change initiatives related to balance sheet management activities.

Job requirements

We are seeking a candidate with the following knowledge and experience:

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Problem-solving skills and a "Make it happen" mindset with a proven track record.
  • Persuasive abilities to convince stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and at all levels within the organization.
  • Leadership skills to bring together end-to-end stakeholders and drive decisions beyond hierarchical influence.
  • Understanding and knowledge of (i) Credit risk model methodology and key concepts (e.g., PD, EAD, LGD), and/or (ii) Funding & liquidity.
  • Basic understanding of Lending and Finance IT system architecture from front to end (e.g., LoanIQ, Vortex, ValueReporter, MISOB).
  • Familiarity with credit risk regulations (CRR 3, EBA standards) and policies.
  • Preferred experience
    • FO and/or Risk transactional experience
    • Experience with Product Approval and Review Process (PARP)
    • Experience in SAS (Vortex Advanced Analytics)
