Your Tasks

  • You live and breathe sustainability and as such help us elevate our Sustainable Solutions Group team to the next level.
  • Whether in developing the end-to-end process of originating and executing sustainable finance transactions or applying the latest sustainable finance standards as well as best market practices to identify opportunities and manage risks: Your support is as invaluable as it is effective.
  • Naturally, you also help us implement the EMEA sustainable finance strategy for the local market, craft marketing & origination plans, have a keen eye for growth opportunities and gladly take responsibility for parts of the sustainable financing process.
  • To this end, you dive deep into the latest trends in the industry and sustainability, like climate risk, environmental and social corporate practices as well as biodiversity, and – in conjunction with the wider EMEA team – drive innovation in new products to add value for our clients and improve our sustainable finance business.
  • Throughout all this, you put teamwork front and centre, build partnerships with external stakeholders, like ESG rating agencies, regulators, industry associations, and work in enhancing our internal and external profile to maintain ING’s leadership in sustainable finance in Germany and internationally.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance or similar, additional academic qualifications in sustainability are a strong advantage
  • First professional experience in a client-facing role, ideally in sustainable finance, or initial experience in commercial banking (e. g. structured finance, debt capital markets, credit analysis, deal structuring), ESG advisory and/or consulting
  • Strong client focus with client engagement as the key priority in further strengthening the client’s sustainability profile and driving the sustainable finance business
  • Quick learner with adaptable, creative and detail-oriented mindset
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative mentality with the ability to mobilise teams and foster teamwork across the organisation
  • A passion for innovation and a feel for sustainable solutions
  • Fluent English and proficient German, both written and spoken
