Job Overview

The Head of Tax and Accounting is responsible for the overall tax compliance of ING Hubs Manila which includes the management of processes, practices, and procedures of BIR, PEZA, LGU, DOF, FIRB.

Responsible for managing the Finance Accounting & Reporting team

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibits Technical skills in Tax and Accounting
  • Strong expertise in People and Stakeholder Management
  • Drives and execute strategic initiatives and promotes control mind-set
  • File the monthly/quarterly/annual tax returns including the submission of summary reports.
  • Prepares relevant documents, schedules, and reconciliation during BIR audit.
  • Ensures that relevant tax schedules required by external auditors are completed.
  • Ensures that schedules tie-up with GL balance.
  • Effectively collaborate with Accounting Team to properly apply relevant tax regulations.
  • Stays abreast of new tax developments and understands their link to and impact on the company.

Key Capabilities/Experience

  • Senior manager with a proven track record of more than 10 years relevant experience in Tax Compliance and Tax Advisory.
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Knowledgeable in using BIR’s eFPS and eBIRForms

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, spreadsheets

  • Experience in using computerized GL system, an advantage

  • Understanding of financial reporting, an advantage
  • Familiarity in PEZA compliance and reporting, an advantage
  • Strong experience in developing high performing teams and people development (i.e., coaching and career conversations).
  • Ability to influence senior global leaders to be able to drive programs that reinforce sound financial strategy for the location and/or across multiple locations/entities.
  • Ability to lead and support expertise roles ensuring financial targets including controls are met and business continuity is in place.
  • Ability to display flexibility to teams and adapt plan, approach and behavior to the different needs, cultures and situations.
  • Responsible to handle 2 Direct Reports but a team of 7 members
  • Directly reports to the Finance Transformation Lead
