Cash Management Contracting Expert

Apply now

As a Contracting Expert, you play a key role in making our contracts easier to understand, simpler to manage, and fully aligned with ING’s commercial ambitions. You support both our clients and our internal organisation by balancing clarity, fairness, and risk — and by ensuring our standard contracts evolve with the market. If you enjoy combining legal expertise with product thinking and customer impact, this role offers a great opportunity to make a difference.

The team

You will join the Expert Team Contracting, a group of product managers with strong legal expertise. The team acts as a knowledge centre for the organisation, supporting TS Sales, Product Management, and the Delivery Organisation with contract-related questions, documentation, and complex negotiations.

Our goal is to deliver clear, harmonised and client‑friendly contracts, while ensuring the bank’s interests are protected. The team works closely with external parties and internal stakeholders, and plays an important role in improving contract processes and maintaining high standards across all documentation. Collaboration, approachability and clear communication define how the team works.

Roles and responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Review, maintain and update standard contracts and agreements.
  • Develop improved documentation and processes that support simplification and harmonisation.
  • Assess legal opinions, challenge assumptions and support risk‑balanced decision making.
  • Lead stakeholder alignment for new initiatives and ensure contractual requirements are met.
  • Support customer negotiations, focusing on translating legal and product risks into practical outcomes.
  • Signal market developments, client needs and commercial opportunities.
  • Provide internal stakeholders with relevant product, legal and market knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with ING policies, standards and regulatory expectations.

How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you stay curious, continue learning and take ownership. To be successful in this role, you bring:

  • A master’s degree in law (Dutch, English or Belgian law preferred; other jurisdictions considered).
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience with clear exposure to legal topics.
  • Ability to simplify complex issues and translate them into practical contract improvements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across countries.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the confidence to act autonomously and take decisions based on facts.
  • Experience or affinity with Wholesale Banking products such as Cash & Liquidity Management, international account opening or digital channels.
