We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive SRE Platform Engineer We are in search of a strong Proficient Platform Engineer specialized on Oracle as DBA, storage technologies/experience, Cloude deployments in Azure and AWS,  networking skills, and the ability to automate and improve our digital customer journeys and underling platforms (Linux, Oracle, Citrix, and specific PSS Systems)

The team

ING’s Payment and Settlement Services (“PSS”) aims to further mature, develop and expand ING’s state of the art payments platforms and settlements services. The PSS focusses on delivering payments and settlement services, meeting the expectations of ING’s business lines and beyond, whilst ensuring the basics: safe, secure, compliant, and reliable. 

The PSS is an independent unit within ING’s COO domain, reporting directly into ING’s Chief OperatingOfficer.

The PSS is responsible for providing standardized payments and settlements services to multiple ING business lines (WB, Retail, and others). There is a clear ambition to also look for external commercialization of our payment platforms.

The PSS changes the organization towards a true Services-based organization and to deliver on ambitious promises, we have organized ourselves into a strong strategic and commercially focused organization around our eight services, where our squads working on those products are enabled by clear prioritization, accountability, and capabilities. And right there, the PSS SRE comes in.

Your profile

In this role you will be part of a squad responsible for delivering business value. All members of the Squad are multi-skilled with their primary and secondary responsibilities and corresponding skill set. As SREPlatform Engineering your primary responsibilities are broadly classified below. However, you are also expected to learn and demonstrate new skills.

  • Specifying, designing and performing resilience and availability tests (including High Availability and Disaster Recovery Exercise);
  • Cloud infrastructure and setting up of applications into ING’s private cloud and on Azure / AWS;
  • Containerization approach for application deployment and experienced with Ansible and Docker;
  • Implementing the security policy so that the system is secure at operating system, database and application level;
  • Experience in RHEL, shell scripting and python for automation of regular jobs;
  • Experience with system and application monitoring using Prometheus / Grafana and other industry standard tools;
  • Oracle DB and SQL scripts and basic DBA activities;
  • Designing and implementing CI / CD pipeline, deployments, and rollback scripts,
  • Deploying and running the application on ING environments and experience of working with industry leading CD/CI tools;
  • Working with RHEL, MQ, Kafka and Casandra based full stack technology where applications are hosted;
  • Be a leading support in large and complex infrastructure and application migrations
  • Perform Incident, Problem and Change Management activities, including writing user stories for resolving problems;

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology/computer science

  • Deep understanding of Infrastructureand Agile principles 

  • Strong stakeholder management and teaching and coaching skills towardsDevops Teams.

  • Deep understanding of[Cloud] Automation tooling, source control, CI/CD and documentation tools.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills on both engineering and management levels

  • Stay curious, take initiative, and embrace feedback loops for improvement
