A day in the life of a Chapter Lead

  • You combine leading a devops team (chapter lead role and Engineer Lead)
  • You will be responsible for 2 chapters (teams) Active Dossier Management & Employee Content Interaction
  • Provide coaching both in terms of professional and personal development to your Chapter members
  • Put in place a culture of self-development and high performing teams.
  • Develop new and update existing flows using ING web standards and way of working
  • Discuss resource planning for squads and chapter with the IT Area Lead and other stakeholders such as the Product Leads
  • Challenge Tech solutions to ensure customer value delivery as early as possible.

A day in the life of a Engineer Lead

  • You are part of a Product Trinity (Product Lead, Engineer Lead and Architecture Lead) which is jointly responsible for the product Active Dossier Management
  • Responsible for the IT software deliveries of the Product team
  • Responsible of HOW the engineers implement the Product
  • Together with the IT Chapter Leads, ensure the required (future) craftmanship for the product is in line with the IT Vision & Strategy
  • Co-owns the solution approach (as agreed with Architects)
  • Has the responsibility of the IT custodian at product team level
    • Guards balance between IT health (e.g. reliability, security, lcm) and new functionality
    • Ensure IT compliance and IT risk control
    • Responsible for IT continuity and non-functional requirements compliance
  • Is point of contact for technology partnerships* at product team level

  • Stay one step ahead in the domains of Enterprise Content Management, IT Infrastructure, IT Operations, Test Automation and Front-End development and apply what you have learned for the benefit of the chapter members and squads
  • Function as an ambassador for cultural change and advocate the 'organisation doing' principles rather than ‘organisational talking’ ones.
  • Encourage chapter members to develop themselves and facilitate this (e.g. providing training opportunities)
  • Identify top performance and act rapidly on underperformance
  • Collaborate with your peers
  • You easily connect and align with IT and Business stakeholders from leadership to squads. Your colleagues will be Engineer Lead, Feature Engineers, Architects, Product Leads and Squad Masters.
  • You are a driver of the solution approach (together with squads) using in-depth knowledge of Business and IT such as architecture, application landscapes, infrastructure, business operations and legislation.
  •  You define and align the roadmaps between squads from different Tribes and thoroughly manage dependencies.
  • Prior experience within Enterprise Content Management is a plus
