Your role & work environment

Within FBA, we have the purpose to be a pro-active partner empowering the business with valuable information and advice. We foster a similar way of working driven by our values with “our data is always right” at the core. We take ownership, have the expertise, we communicate clear and easy, and we challenge and advise. We are structured in specific teams serving their customer segments (private individuals, business banking, wholesale banking), and a consolidation team focusing on the entire bank.

The teams in FBA provide (1) regular reporting and advice to the Executive Committee of ING Belgium, as well as to ING Group, while also maintaining a relationship with various other internal stakeholders (e.g. Credit Risk, Balance Sheet Risk, CoE Reporting, Financial Accounting, Capital & Balance Sheet Management) and external stakeholders (e.g. National Bank of Belgium, several rating agencies etc.). A lot of the work is also forward-looking: FBA teams are responsible for (2) budgeting and forecasting ING’s balance sheet and P&L, hereby assisting in setting the strategic direction of the bank. Furthermore, the team provides ad-hoc (3) support and advice on major bank-wide challenging projects (strategic projects, peer review with our main competitors, questions from regulators, etc.).

Your key responsibilities

You will support one of the segment teams in their day-to-day activities, such as reporting the financial performance of the segment or assisting in forecasting certain elements. Next to that, you will work on some improvement projects for the team.

We look for

A colleague with a talent for taking it on and making it happen, enthusiasm for helping others to be successful and a knack for always being a step ahead. In other words, you strive to bring fresh ideas to life and embrace challenges in a fast changing and complex environment. You are a naturally collaborative person who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals.

As an internship in FBA you will also need:

•       A bachelor degree in Finance or equivalent (e.g. Economics)

•       Basic knowledge of banking balance sheet and banking products

•       Well-developed cooperation and communication skills to be able to act as a linking pin and smoothly interact with all departments and colleagues involved.

•        Self-starter and result-oriented, critical and a team player: you enjoy contributing to larger topics in collaboration with colleagues in and outside the team.

We offer you

A clear purpose, a unique offer and a range of flexible compensation and other benefits:

  • Personal growth & challenging work with endless opportunities to realise your ambitions.
  • An informal, dynamic environment with innovative colleagues supporting your endeavours.
  • A progressive and agile way of working, where new ideas are valued ahead of convention.
