Full Stack Developer for ING Wholesale Banking, Tribe Lending

The Lending Tribe is part of ING’s Wholesale Banking Lending Organization.

Our strategic direction is that we build the future of Wholesale Banking for our customers and employees. We create a fast, seamless, personalized & Data driven Digital Lending Xperience.

The tribe consists of several areas and this position is for the Area Client Offering & Investors. Within this area we have a couple of initiatives which will contribute to making the lending processes fully digital and reduce the time to yes. We will do this through rethinking, replacing and reinventing current processes and tooling while ensuring compliance to policy and regulations by design. There are plenty of domains such as Pricing, Loan approval process, documentation process, credit monitoring process and capital velocity.

We aspire to develop & build the next generation Loan Approval and Monitoring Platform and transform the way clients and employees interact with each other to the best customer experience in the market for ING. This is a challenging area due to the high degree of complexity in processes and product offering. At the same time this is an Area which will directly impact the daily work of our >2000 WB Front Office and Risk colleagues globally, the speed which we can execute deals for our clients (with distribution in mind), which will ultimately enable ING WB’s growth strategy.

This senior developer role is in the PricING squad. PricING has responsibility for the application and process used by our Front Office colleagues for calculating transaction profitability. We work closely with the model experts to build evolving requirements into the application, to stay accurate and regulatory compliant. You will join a cross-functional squad and work with colleagues in Dublin, Amsterdam and further afield.

Job duties

  • Create, develop and support advanced business applications within Wholesale Banking
  • Collaborate with your team to understand business requirements and together translate them into the solution
  • Search and propose solutions using the newest technologies. Help your team grow and think of ways to make solutions scalable and future-proof
  • Ensure code quality and maintainability by thorough testing, tackling technological debt, conducting code reviews, and refactoring
  • You continuously improve your skills to adapt to new situations, and always deliver the highest quality results

Requirements

  • You have a pro-active attitude; you speak up about your ideas and like working with a team
  • 5+ years hands on professional experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns
  • Excellent knowledge of Java, Git, Maven
  • Experience with RESTAPIs
  • Strong knowledge in Front end frameworks and working experience in developing Web components using one or more framework of the Angular 8 + , ReactJS , Lit-HTML/Lit-Element.
  • Good knowledge of relational databases, e.g. Oracle
  • Experience and understanding of (test) automation, continuous delivery, deployment tools and pipelines. (We work with Azure DevOps, Kubernetes on OpenShift).
  • Experience with projects using Spring Framework/Spring Boot
  • Knowledge of Micro-Services architecture, container technologies: Docker, OpenShift

Additional preferred skills

  • Experience in working with Kafka
  • Scripting skills using languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python
  • Knowledge of Java 17 and beyond is a plus
