The Opportunity 

The opportunity is for an IT Area Lead in the Network and Core Banking space. This area of almost 40 engineers is spread across multiple locations. As ITAL you will be responsible for the successful delivery within the scope as well as the continuing development of the engineers in your care.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Working as a part of a global management team of IT Area Leads to ensure feasibility and delivery of Product Roadmaps in line with the Bank’s strategy and KPIs
  • Provide technical leadership and advise on the solution architecture and approach.
  • Growing craftsmanship on the part of IT Chapters in your area.
  • Managing capacity, delivery, and relationship with third party vendors
  • IT Custodianship of applications – this includes keeping IT Risk within Risk Appetite and a focus on resiliency where KPIs (like availability) and other Service Level Objectives are met.
  • Balancing business requirements with technical debt
  • Managing budgets, contracts and working within the internal service and sourcing framework.
  • Aligning with NextGen Tech strategy of the bank to integrate relevant aspects into the product roadmaps.

Your Profile (Desired Skills & Experience)

  • Master of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent field is desired.
  • Experienced IT leader with 5+ years of experience in an IT management role. 
  • You have a strong hand at architecture with knowledge of data flows and pipelines
  • Knowledge of the full development stack and analytics will be handy to have.
  • Vendor management both for software and consulting services is important
  • Senior Stakeholder management skills are critical for success.
  • Knowledge of banking and core banking products is a big nice-to-have.
  • You are passionate about growing and developing technical people.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. 
  • You love technology and naturally stay up to date on relevant new developments.
  • You value a multi-cultured environment where English is the working language, and you easily get on with people from different cultural backgrounds.
