Your role and work environment:

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Compliance Lead to join our Data Protection and Compliance Team at ING Hubs Spain.

The Compliance Lead will act as independent expert for 2nd Line / risk management in the area of Data Protection and Compliance. The Lead Compliance has the additional purpose of helping others in their area of expertise to succeed and to empower them to ensure the entity (i.e., ING Hubs Spain) supports the Bank to remain safe and secure. 

Your key responsibilities:

In your role as Lead Compliance, you are focused on advising, monitoring, and challenging risks related to the individual/data subject arising from processing of personal data by ING. The Lead Compliance ensures quality on advice & challenge of each processing of personal data with local impact.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Implement the ING Group Compliance risk management framework and standards, additionally ascertaining local policies, processes and controls are in line with the framework and standards.
  • Ascertain that processes and controls in place at the first line of defense are properly designed and effective in line with the Global Compliance Risk standards.
  • Oversee Compliance Risk profiles at entity level and report on risks to the local/global NFRC and Global Risk functions.
  • Cascade the Risk Appetite Statement into detailed risk strategies at entity level within its pre-defined risk appetite.
  • Raise data protection and compliance risk awareness throughout our organization.
  • Develop the training plan and provide training in the field of Data Protection and Compliance to employees of ING Hubs Spain in order to raise awareness of the functioning of Data Protection and Compliance procedures.
  • Instruct management and employees on Data Protection and Compliance requirements to ensure that they act in accordance with laws, ING's, regulations, and risk appetite, as defined in ING Policies, including keeping them informed of developments in ING.
  • Execute the monitoring activities in accordance with the Monitoring Plan, prepare reports and inform the Management about the Data Protection & Compliance issues.
  • Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, policies, the Orange ING Code, and the effectiveness of compliance controls. Report the results of monitoring activities in accordance with ING's Data Protection and Compliance Frameworks.

Other mandatory requirements to fit in with the role:

  • Advanced academic degree: technical, disciplinary proficiency, management knowledge   
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in control functions such as compliance, data protection, risk management or auditing
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Dedicated certifications are a plus
