Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager

Apply now

We're seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager with a strong background in corporate, office-based organisations. This role is ideally suited to someone who has led Health, Safety & Wellbeing programs within a highly regulated industry such as financial services, banking, insurance, telecommunications, utilities or professional services.

A key focus of the role will be driving ING's approach to psychosocial risk and hazard management, including risk identification and assessment, control design and implementation, governance, reporting, and enterprise-wide wellbeing initiatives. You'll partner closely with senior leaders to strengthen organisational capability, ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements, and foster a positive, healthy and high-performing workplace culture.

This position is focused on managing health, safety and wellbeing risks across a predominantly white-collar, corporate workforce. While the organisation operates within a professional office environment, the role also provides oversight of health and safety risks arising from third-party suppliers and contractors undertaking higher-risk work activities.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have successfully balanced corporate workplace health, safety and wellbeing responsibilities with contractor and supplier risk management in regulated environments. Experience gained in large corporate organisations will be highly regarded, while candidates whose experience is primarily within industrial, manufacturing, construction, mining or heavy operational settings may be less aligned to the core requirements of this role.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the ongoing development and maturity of our Health, Safety & Wellbeing framework, management systems and governance practices.
  • Drive psychosocial risk and hazard management across a large corporate workforce, including risk assessments, control design and implementation, monitoring, reporting and organisation-wide wellbeing initiatives.
  • Influence and partner with senior leaders to strengthen accountability and embed a positive safety culture across the business.
  • Oversee workers' compensation and injury management programs to support positive employee and business outcomes.
  • Manage health and safety risks across suppliers, contractors and third-party engagements while driving a risk-based approach to safety management.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience managing health and safety risks within a corporate office-based environment, including governance and oversight of third-party contractors, suppliers and other external parties undertaking higher-risk activities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in psychosocial risk management, including hazard identification, risk assessments, control frameworks, regulatory compliance and employee wellbeing programs.
  • Proven capability in safety governance, compliance frameworks, policies, risk management and health and safety management systems.
  • Strong experience partnering with senior executives and influencing stakeholders across large, complex organisations.
  • A strategic mindset, commercial acumen and genuine passion for creating safe, healthy and high-performing workplaces.
