Role Purpose

Do you enjoy coordinating complex initiatives, working with senior stakeholders and ensuring important activities are delivered on time and to a high standard?

As a Senior Tax Risk & Control Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and improving ING's Tax Risk & Control Frameworks, covering areas such as FATCA/CRS, US Withholding and CESOP.

Your focus will be on framework governance, implementation oversight, stakeholder management and reporting. You will work with teams across ING to ensure controls are implemented, tested and monitored consistently, and that key governance activities are delivered according to plan.

Deep tax expertise is not required. Subject matter support is available through dedicated Centres of Excellence.

Key responsibilities

Framework Governance & Oversight

  • Maintain and continuously improve global Tax Risk & Control frameworks.
  • Translate regulatory and policy requirements into practical controls and implementation guidance.
  • Coordinate framework updates, approvals and communications.

Driving Global Implementation

  • Lead implementation of new or updated framework requirements across ING locations.
  • Coordinate timelines, progress tracking, risk management and stakeholder alignment.
  • Act as the main point of contact for locations during implementation projects.
  • Provide reporting and dashboards for senior management and governance forums.

Control Monitoring & Testing

  • Ensure key control monitoring and testing activities are planned and executed on time.
  • Support stakeholders in understanding control and evidence requirements.
  • Review outcomes, identify risks and drive follow-up actions where needed.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Facilitate governance meetings and control forums.
  • Prepare management reporting, decision materials and escalation proposals.
  • Build strong relationships across Operations, Risk, Compliance, Tax and Audit functions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve efficiency and strengthen control effectiveness.
  • Drive standardisation and best practices across locations.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Experience in risk, controls, governance, compliance, audit or a related field.
  • Proven ability to coordinate complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience preparing management reporting and governance materials.
  • Ability to challenge constructively, influence stakeholders and drive delivery.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Non-Financial Risk, Internal Controls, Operational Risk or Compliance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of ING governance processes, KCM/KCT, iRisk or related tooling.
  • Exposure to FATCA, CRS, CESOP or other regulatory frameworks.

Wage (gross)
From 3443 EUR/month

*By legal requirement we are providing the information about the basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised position. Based on your experience/profile, the final financial conditions will be the subject to discuss and negotiate at the personal interview, however, not less than above mentioned minimum salary component.
