Model Risk Specialist

The expected salary for this position: 9600 - 18 000 PLN gross.

The financial ranges specified in the announcement are adjusted and may differ from the range specified in the remuneration regulations.

We are looking for you, if you have:

  • A quantitative degree and experience in Data Analytics,
  • Risk management professional skills with hands on Model Risk, preferably +2 years of experience in model risk management area,
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and ethical guidelines. Experience in corporate governance and in-depth knowledge of Model Risk Management Framework principles (be ready to explore and develop) will be considered as a plus,
  • Design thinking,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities,
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

You'll get extra points for:

  • Experience in corporate governance and in-depth knowledge of Model Risk Management Framework principles,
  • Participation in end-to-end modelling, framework and governance initiatives/projects and change management,
  • Having automation experience in Python/VBA or in SAS MRM tool,
  • Having knowledge on structuring and application of Data Quality aspects: framework design and implementation, monitoring and control activities and validation rules on data sets,
  • Operational agile in Power BI or other data visualization platforms,
  • You think and act globally and grasp business opportunities or identify pain points to be addressed,
  • You recognize and understand correlation and dependencies between squads within different parts of the organization,
  • Have strong understanding of project management and experience in projects participation,
  • Have strong stakeholder management skills, including experience managing communication and influencing senior stakeholders. Good listener and interviewer, receptive to the feedback from the stakeholders.

Your responsibilities:

  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis of model inventory data at portfolio level to asses model risk and contribute in steering process by identification root causes of MRAS threshold breaches, perform monitoring of ongoing action plans aimed to keep model risk measures within defined MRAS limits, define portfolio-level analysis conclusions, communicate key messages to appropriate stakeholders, and initiate new actions and escalations through the model risk reporting and governance process,
  • Perform reviews of model risk topics (e.g. model identification, model waivers, etc.) and provide advice, ensuring quality and consistency at portfolio level through whole Model Life Cycle,
  • Support key model risk control activities at portfolio level (e.g. attestation process, sampling approach model inventory data quality reviews, annual reviews of the framework documents etc.),
  • Prepare analysis of model inventory data, providing qualitative insights for model landscape and model risk reporting, driving governance topics at model portfolio level by submission and presentation of MoRM reports to stakeholders, MoRM management team and governance bodies,
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and support audit requests/ remediation activities, collaborating with other tribes/stakeholders,
  • Deliver information sessions and reporting to relevant stakeholders and participate in the delivery of trainings,
  • Influence strategic change in stakeholder behavior, moving away from operational activities towards portfolio management of risk levels,
  • Interact with Model owners and other stakeholders, fostering accountability and ownership of model risk within the 1st line of defence,

Maintain solid technical knowledge of iModel and draft business requirements and specifications for requested changes. 

The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be “Model Risk Specialist III”.
