Audit Supervisor - CAS Risk and Finance

Apply now

ING’s global Corporate Audit Services division (CAS) is looking for an experienced audit supervisor who is energised by improving the control environment via the execution of high quality audits. This means evaluating the design and assessing the operating effectiveness of controls, in the form of processes, activities, applications, and so on. Independent assessments are carried out by means of various audit techniques. Audit findings are reported, including suggestions for improvement and concrete recommendations, and presented to senior management.

As an Audit Supervisor you typically have more than 8 years relevant work experience. You require only limited supervision and guidance in areas that involve multiple and/or senior stakeholders, covering a varied array of topics in Risk and Finance areas. You are able to actively lead the planning, execution and reporting process of audits, independently. This means that you supervise the work performed by the team and execute audit related work under high quality standards; you coach your auditors on the job; pro-actively give feedback on the progress of the audit towards stakeholders; foresee issues and/or carry out your work in a way that avoids bottlenecks building up in the audit process; You can prepare high quality draft reports and discuss these with the auditee.

Your work environment

You will be based in Amsterdam and work as part of the Risk & Finance audit team within the Audit Division NL (CAS NL). This division is part of CAS, which is a highly professional organisation with approximately 20 audit teams across the globe with more than 300 staff members. Together with your Amsterdam colleagues, you will provide audit coverage on a variety of audits mainly related to the domain of ING Netherlands. Although you will mainly work in The Netherlands, there sometimes is the opportunity to support audit teams abroad.

How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious, keep learning and take on responsibility.

Ideally, you’ll:

  • Hold an academic degree and possess an audit or comparable certification (e.g., RA, RE, RO, or CIA), or are actively working towards obtaining one.
  • Bring at least 8 years of relevant experience in banking (preferably within Risk or Finance), audit, internal controls, or related fields.
  • Have experience working in complex, preferably international organizations, with a strong understanding of business operations, risks, and associated controls. Familiarity with ING's business is an advantage.
  • Can independently plan and execute complex audit assignments. You manage audits within agreed timelines and scope, ensure the timely completion of audit files, and deliver high-quality audit reports that clearly articulate identified control weaknesses and recommendations.
  • Have experience applying data analytics within an audit environment.
  • Contribute to the development of the Audit Strategy Memorandum, Audit Universe, and Annual Audit Plan.

  • Possess excellent communication, influencing, and advisory skills, with the ability to engage and challenge stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing, contributing to a high-performing and inclusive team environment.

Furthermore:

  • You are naturally ambitious, pro-active, critical and curious
