ING is looking for a Team Lead Retail for the Global Credit Restructuring department.

Global Credit Restructuring (GCR) is globally responsible for a safe, compliant and data driven credit loss process by managing loan loss provisioning, finding solutions for clients in financial difficulty and by closing the learning loop on lessons learned.

Next to GCR’s responsibility for ING’s Loan Loss Provisioning process, we take responsibility for finding solutions for borrowers in difficulty, acting as the restructuring knowledge center for ING. We are committed to together preserve principal, maximise recovery and develop a strategy which best benefits ING Bank and its clients.

Job description

You lead a team of (Senior) Account Managers Credit Restructuring who develop and execute strategies for clients in Restructuring. Team size can vary based on the economic cycle/situation (FTE 15 - 25). In this role you develop a strategy which best benefits ING Bank and its clients. Your team focusses on the restructuring and/or recovery of retail clients in the Retail portfolio and in the global network. Key Responsibilities include:

1) Restructuring. Based on thorough understanding of all economic and legal issues, ensure the planning and execution of restructuring and/or recovery plans for Retail companies. In first instance by managing and challenging the account managers in the team, but where needed, through taking the lead in Steering committees and in consultation with advisors. Coordinate with the stakeholders within ING and enable maximum recovery. Reputational and integrity risk is given adequate consideration.  

2) Ensure the integrity of related internal Loan Loss Provisioning process, the Sox process and other GCR processes. Together with other MT GCR members take on part of the responsibility for the functional role GCR has towards Regional Restructuring Units with Retail oriented portfolios.

3) Exercise Individual Global Mandate (A6) for Problem Loans.

4) Take a leading role in GCR related Policy, System and Regulation topics.

5) Act as an advisor in Watch List Meetings.

6) Share Knowledge to ensure lessons learned from GCR and other Restructuring units are actively shared.

Experience/Knowledge requested

  • You have in depth knowledge of credit risk and restructuring with at least 10 years of restructuring experience and/or commercial experience with a proven track record in negotiating complex deals.

  • Solid understanding of Credit Risk policies and considerations is expected.

  • Interested in regulatory and/or control environment or active participation in projects around these topics.

  • Managerial experience is a plus.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Academic / MBA level.
