An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Portfolio Management and Distribution team (PMD) of Financial Institutions (FI) based in Amsterdam. The PMD team, has a leading position in providing risk diversification, mitigation and distribution for the FI portfolio, with a strong focus on FI Trade Clients and Corporate trade clients. The team has well developed capabilities to fulfil ING’s strategic ambition on Originate to Distribute. While cooperating closely with various internal stakeholders, our main counterparties are top international banks, large insurance companies and several multilateral organizations.

Role & Responsibilties

  • Cooperate and partner up with FI Trade Finance Services (TFS) Originators to analyse optimal exposures, actively explore possibilities for efficient and effective limit utilization (through distribution and participation)
  • Proactively find solutions for best distribution structures and implement these in a project based way together with the relevant stakeholders (i.e. Origination, Legal, Risk, Product Management, Operations)
  • Negotiate framework documentation between ING and its secondary partners in consultation with legal
  • Source, negotiate and execute FI trade finance transactions in secondary market, including Transactional Due Diligence ( compliance, ESR)
  • Implement smooth and correct transaction execution for covered and bought transactions
  • Manage current relationships with secondary market partners (banks, insurers & multilaterals) as per the defined portfolio strategy
  • Advise and update FI TFS Origination and Management about pricing trends and deliver market intelligence.
  • Report periodically or ad-hoc on portfolio, distribution and participation activities.

How to succeed

  • Ambitious professional with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree;
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant working experience;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, strong team player;
  • In-depth knowledge of trade related structures and documentation is a plus;
  • Experience in trade finance and/or banking is a plus;
  • Strong financial & analytical skills;
  • Ability to identify and focus on the business opportunities in various geographical regions;
  • High level of self-motivation and professional approach;
  • Critical attitude and attention to detail;
  • Fluent in English both verbally and written; another foreign language is a plus (French, Spanish, German, Chinese etc.)
