Your role and work environment:

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Public Affairs Expert to join our External relations Team of the Corporate Communications, Public Affairs & ESG Department

The responsibility of this team is to contribute to the reputation & business objectives of ING Spain & Portugal by building community with external stakeholders and engaging with public administrations and policymakers to contribute to the institutional relations of the company.

Your key responsibilities:

As a Public Affairs Expert, you will:

Positively contribute to map and analyze the ING relationships with external institutions and stakeholders (associations, interest groups, governments, institutions, etc.) and propose a structured and long-term development plan to ensure that the bank is adequately represented in the public debate, in relations with regulators, in the academic context and in Spanish society at large.

Co-create the strategy to leave a mark on society and bring the most value to our stakeholders.

Follow up legislation and public initiatives of the interest of ING and contribute to make our position taken into consideration.

Draft strategic documents and briefings for the ING Executive Committee members, as well as prepare materials for high-level meetings.

Ensure an appropriate presence of ING at high profile events or conferences, organisations and institutions, relevant expert committees in the Spanish market.

Manage and track reputation monitors that help us measure how we are externally perceived.

Political & social awareness, you’re eager to create alliances and respond to societal challenges, willing to make the difference in the field of Public Affairs, innovating approaches and bringing new solutions in the context of the times we’re in.

At least 6 years of experience in public affairs, knowledge of the Spanish institutional ecosystem, experience in public administration, political parties or government bodies, industry association or specialized agency.

Preferably, but not necessarily, studies in political science, law, communications, economics, or international relations.

Strategic vision, excellent analytical, oral and written skills, fluent English.

Estamos buscando a una persona talentosa y entusiasta para unirse a nuestro equipo de Relaciones Externas del Departamento de Comunicación Corporativa, Asuntos Públicos y ESG.

La responsabilidad de este equipo es contribuir a la reputación y los objetivos comerciales de ING España y Portugal, construyendo comunidad con partes interesadas externas y colaborando con administraciones públicas y responsables políticos para contribuir a las relaciones institucionales de la empresa.

Tus principales responsabilidades:

Como Experto/a en Asuntos Públicos, tus responsabilidades serán:

• Contribuir positivamente a mapear y analizar las relaciones de ING con instituciones y partes interesadas externas (asociaciones, grupos de interés, gobiernos, instituciones, etc.) y proponer un plan de desarrollo estructurado y a largo plazo para asegurar que el banco esté adecuadamente representado en el debate público, en las relaciones con los reguladores, en el contexto académico y en la sociedad española en general.
• Co-crear la estrategia para dejar una huella en la sociedad y aportar el mayor valor a nuestras partes interesadas.
• Hacer seguimiento de la legislación e iniciativas públicas de interés para ING y contribuir a que nuestra posición sea tenida en cuenta.
• Redactar documentos estratégicos e informes para los miembros del Comité Ejecutivo de ING, así como preparar materiales para reuniones de alto nivel.
• Asegurar una presencia adecuada de ING en eventos o conferencias de alto perfil, organizaciones e instituciones, y comités de expertos relevantes en el mercado español.
• Gestionar y rastrear monitores de reputación que nos ayuden a medir cómo somos percibidos externamente.

• Al menos 6 años de experiencia en asuntos públicos, conocimiento del ecosistema institucional español, experiencia en administración pública, partidos políticos u organismos gubernamentales, asociaciones industriales o agencias especializadas.
• Preferiblemente, pero no necesariamente, estudios en ciencias políticas, derecho, comunicación, economía o relaciones internacionales.
• Visión estratégica, excelentes habilidades analíticas, orales y escritas, inglés fluido.
