About the position:

You are responsible for a portfolio of transactions for which you execute amendments, extensions, credit reviews and are responsible for internal reporting. Next to a focus on Shipping you will also cover Object Finance transactions for Real Estate, Transportation and Logistics.

About the department:

You are a member of a small team responsible for Portfolio Management for Object Finance loans. The team is part of the wider ING WB Lending Portfolio Management group and closely works together with relationship management and execution teams.

Responsibilities :

  • The Portfolio Management (PM) team aims to be the ‘center of excellence’ for the in-life management of ING’s lending exposures to multiple sectors.
  • You will specialize in Shipping finance but will also be exposed to and expected to work on other sectors such as Real Estate, Rail and Container finance.
  • This includes (but not limited to) analyzing the credit risks of the transactions/portfolio via credit reviews, risk ratings, maintaining data quality and monitoring of covenants and early warning indicators
  • Furthermore, you are responsible for all material and non-material credit modifications.
  • You stay on top of developments in the Shipping sector.
  • Clients, internal departments (including risk and relationship management) and other stakeholders (such as legal advisers and other banks) will turn to you as their primary contact for the all-in-life management portfolio.
  • Next to day-to-day activities you are involved in change initiatives.
  • You will ensure compliance with external and internal requirements and processes related to ESG/Sustainability matters.
  • You are involved in portfolio and balance sheet optimization measures to optimize the lending portfolio’s performance in view of risk profile, income and RoE.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Degree level education required
  • CFA or similar qualification desirable
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a Shipping lending role
  • Knowledge of Real Estate, Transport and Logistics transactions/sectors is preferred
  • Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities
  • Strong financial modelling capabilities
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Committed and entrepreneurial individual who is prepared to learn about new industry sectors
  • Understanding of risks and ability to assess potential mitigants
  • General knowledge of legal documentation and transaction structuring

Salary range: $130K - $175K
