We’re looking for a passionate and hands on Business Controls Officer to join our Human Resources team. This is a unique opportunity to drive the uplift of risk maturity across HR in a complex, regulated, and globally connected environment.

Our HR team supports employees throughout their journey with usFrom payroll and talent acquisition to remuneration, data management and international mobility.  We partner with our offshore hubs and outsourced vendors to deliver seamless, compliant, and people-focused services. We’re evolving how we work - and strengthening our risk muscles is a key part of our journey.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and uplift the HR Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).
  • Drive the design, testing, and management of HR non-financial risk controls.
  • Lead the charge on uplifting the HR team’s approach and thinking on risk, the use of tools and adoption of relevant frameworks
  • Support HR contract and process owners in meeting governance and compliance requirements.
  • Leverage data to inform decisions and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years in Line 1 Risk within Australian Financial Services.
  • Proven experience in HR, risk, compliance, or obligation management.
  • Understanding of non-financial risk frameworks and regulatory environments.
  • Experience supporting the uplift of capability across a team with your subject matter expertise
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative approach.

What’s in it for you?

  • An annual Rest Day to support your wellbeing.
  • An IMPACT day to put your time to a sustainability activity that delivers real punch.
  • Join over 65% of your colleagues who come together in our ING community groups to support the evolution of our inclusive culture.

About Us

At ING, we want to make life simpler and more worthwhile – for everyone who banks with us, for the people who work with us, and the community at large, too.

When you come to work at ING, you’re joining a team where individuality isn’t just accepted, it’s encouraged. We’ve built a culture that’s fun, friendly and supportive – it’s the kind of place where you can be yourself and make the most of whatever you have to offer.

We give people the freedom to think differently, take ownership of their work, and make great things happen. We’re here to help you get ahead. And with our global network, there’s plenty of scope to take your career in new directions, perhaps even ones you’ve never considered.

Don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes! If you meet some of the criteria, we still want to hear from you. Your unique skills and experiences could be just what we're looking for to add some extra sparkle to our team!

We are all about celebrating success and as a result we are proud to be a WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality and a certified Family Inclusive workplace.

Sound like the kind of place you’d feel at home? We’d love to hear from you.

(One last thing, ING operates a direct talent sourcing model. So no agency introductions, please.)
