ING in Asia Pacific

In Asia Pacific, ING offers wholesale banking across 11 markets, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

Singapore is the regional headquarters for ING's Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia, which includes all WB business lines such as Financial Markets, Strategic Products, Sectors, Lending and Transaction Services and other support functions.

What does the CSG Team do in ING?

The Client Solutions Group (CSG) is part of the Financial Markets Sales organization and comprises of professionals with a solid background in products such as rates, foreign exchange, inflation, commodities, equity, and credit. The team is setup as a center of expertise for hedging and investment solutions and focuses on more bespoke business or niches in which it takes on advisory, structuring, quantitative analytics, and/or execution roles. CSG works closely together with teams within FM such as Origination Sales, Execution Sales, Trading, and Research as well as Wholesale Banking specialists in Sector Coverage and Capital Markets & Advisory.

What would you be doing?

At CSG, you will be able to:

  • Develop real problem solving skills in the context of Financial Markets

  • Gain multidisciplinary exposure on different products and perspective on client needs and problems

  • Go through intense practical experience on the use of derivatives to solve client investment and risk management requirements

Duties and responsibilities

  • Prepare power point pitches and other marketing materials for clients

  • Prepare termsheets for trades executed

  • Conduct research and prepare the regular updates of the weekly dashboards

  • Assist with client onboarding requirements such as account opening

  • Facilitate pre-deal economics information (exposure profiles, derivatives credit charge pricing calculations (XVA) to FM deal originators

  • Work with multi-disciplinary deal teams to structure and provide hedging insights for strategic transactions

  • Assist seniors in coming up with deal-related client risk analysis, dashboards and news update to better guide FM senior management and other ING stakeholders

What qualities, skills and other criteria are we looking for?

We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria: 

  • Keen interest and basic understanding in Financial Markets

  • Ability to work on various transactions/projects at the same time, often under pressure, and to prioritize resources accordingly

  • Strong presentation skills (making Powerpoint pitches, presenting)

  • Methodical, logical, systematic, pro-active and solution-driven approach

  • Entrepreneurial and commercially driven

  • Eager to learn from and to share knowledge with colleagues

  • University degree in finance, economics, and/or CFA or equivalent academics

  • Knowledge of financial markets products (derivatives) will be a plus

  • You should have legal work rights in the country of internship.
