We are looking for Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our Corporate Customer Data Management Journey. This opportunity is suitable for an independent thinker, a team player, someone that embraces ING’s orange code values and who can help us to take Customer Data to the next level - we would like to meet you! As an SME in Wholesale Banking (WB) Customer Data, you will play a key role in delivering our promise of accurate, trustworthy, and reusable data for ING across the globe.

Your role and work environment
SME collaborate with teams across different cultures and regions and is responsible to define, organize, document, execute, manage and continuously improve operational processes in customer data, allowing the optimal realization of service(s) reducing operational risks and increasing operating efficiencies.


SME works in so-called self-managing team. This means they have the freedom to share their own ideas, expertise and experience with an expertise team and deliver real added value in coming up with the best solutions for customers.


Your key responsibilities

• Gain and document insights regarding data attributes of organizations – clients of ING and hierarchies from onboarding to offboarding (e.g. connections, customer type, industry, legal ultimate parent).

• Support a Global Data Owner responsible for the correctness, completeness and managing of data attributes, data quality, processes and compliance (local and global).

• Collecting information from different ING locations to identify how the data is used and translation of business requirements into a set of proposed solutions.

• Identify improvement areas and develop practical improvement solutions for existing processes/procedures/work instructions, technology and organization.

• Assist in the development of strategies and solutions to address complex challenges.

• Ensure knowledge of operational processes is captured and documented in work instructions and procedures.
• Align process activities with other international teams/departments, ensuring the delivery of a coherent and comprehensive service.

Personality requirements and skills

• 5+ years of working experience in banking or similar environment, Shared services knowledge/experience is a plus.

• Experience from agile working environment or knowledge of agile methodology - being able to adapt quickly on task prioritization

• Analytical skills – proven strong analytical abilities to assess information critically, identify patterns, and interpret complex data effectively. Drive for data quality and standardization. Can see synergies and think out-of-the-box.

Effective communication - required experience in communication across different locations and collaboration effectively with peers & stakeholders. Can build effective working relationships and thrive in a diversified and multicultural work environment

• Strong skill set in the areas of personal effectiveness (i.e. adaptability, independence, courage and self-confidence, accuracy, attention to detail).

Wage (gross)

  • 2.168 EUR/month
  • *By legal requirement we are providing the information about the basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised position. Based on your experience/profile, the final financial conditions will be the subject to discuss and negotiate at the personal interview, however, not less than above mentioned minimum salary component.
