As a manager in our retail credit risk modelling team, you will play an important role in shaping how ING best uses its data, analytics and modelling to drive meaningful outcomes for both the organisation and our customers.

You will be responsible for developing and managing business critical models including IRB, IFRS9, credit decisioning and behavioral models and work with business partners on how these models are used in application to deliver business outcomes.

You will get a broad exposure to both different types of models and seniority of stakeholders. This would be a brilliant role to develop both your technical capabilities but also critical stakeholder management ability.

What you’ll do

  • Develop business critical statistical models including IRB, IFRS9, credit decision and behavioral models for the retail credit risk portfolios.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and management of ING's retail credit risk models, ensuring they are fit for purpose and compliant with internal requirements as well as regulatory standards. 
  • Support the end-to-end lifecycle of model management including, data preparation, model design and
    development, documentation and governance, monitoring and validation of models.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on credit risk models and data, able to communication complex topics in simple ways to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Perform complex analysis on model usage strategies to optimise performance and growth.

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years of experience in retail credit risk modelling experience
    required
  • Advanced SAS and SQL. R or Python would be beneficial.
  • Tertiary degree in statistics or mathematics. Statistical modelling involving large
    amounts of data.
  • Knowledge of IRB & IFRS9 models and associated requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of banking products and trends in Australian banking industry.
