The Portfolio Manager is part of the Real Estate Finance sales team, leading efforts to manage the entire portfolio. The goal of this team is to ensure customer satisfaction and retention through flawless, consistent, predictable, and first-time-right processing of real estate loan transactions, while maintaining control and keeping the bank secure.

What you’ll do

  • Lead Lending Activities: Overseeing all lending activities within the Relationship Sales team for MC-REF, ensuring a uniform and end-to-end approach to lending processes.
  • Portfolio Management: Taking responsibility for managing the entire MC-REF lending portfolio, including proactive credit management and risk-reward assessment.
  • Team Leadership: Directly managing and guiding Support Officers, facilitating and inspiring them to achieve their ambitions, and fostering a culture of self-responsibility and self-direction. Ensuring high-quality standards and professionalizing the support officers’ team, improving the operational structure of the lending portfolio, while promoting optimal collaboration and a uniform way of working.
  • Business banking Strategy Contribution: Contributing to the Business Banking strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in a Business Lending/Real Estate Finance environment with an understanding of customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Minimum 5-year banking / finance experience & minimum 3-year lending experience involving commercial lending functions
  • Commercial property portfolio oversight encompassing portfolio monitoring & account management functions
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Expertise in proactive portfolio management, being the point of contact for colleagues and or clients with questions or change requests regarding their financing agreements. Independently assessing material change requests and discussing options with the colleagues, ensuring internal processes are completed efficiently.
  • Proficiency in identifying early risks, ensuring adequate follow-up through periodic reviews, and acting on Early Warning Signals (EWS). Collaborating with Risk Management in managing Watchlist items and informing and colleagues about upcoming policy or legislative changes related to business lending.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage the lending process, promoting end-to-end responsibility within your team. Facilitate and inspire Support Officers, fostering a collaborative and data-driven environment.
