1. Product Area Lead – Transactional Business Banking

2. Product Area Lead – Business Banking - Lending

We are looking for new Product Area Leads for the Product Area ‘Transactional Business Banking’ and ‘Lending’ in the Business Banking Delivery tribe.

A Product Area Lead (PAL) is responsible to set the vision (the why) and help the squads from their area to make it happen (the what). The Product Area Lead in the Agile design is also responsible for the management and development of the people within their area.

As a Product Area Lead (PAL) collaborating with the IT Area Lead (ITAL), the responsibility lies in ensuring efficient delivery within your domain. The PAL and ITAL work together to establish an effective Way of Working, crucial for enabling seamless collaboration among individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and origins to achieve common goals.

As a Product Area Lead, you’ll steer agile teams and squads towards enhancing the experience for our target audience in transactional business banking and lending sectors. This involves spearheading strategic technology initiatives and ensuring continuous enhancement of customer experiences.

Our ideal candidate possesses expertise in managing intricate technology projects, collaborating with both internal and global stakeholders, as well as external partners, to achieve ING's financial and non-financial objectives.

We are seeking a creative thinker who can navigate complex products and environments, identifying optimal strategies to enhance client outcomes and drive structural transformation at ING.

As a key member of the Business Banking Delivery tribe leadership team, collaboration is essential. Working closely with team members, you’ll collectively define the vision and oversee its execution. Your role also involves managing stakeholders within and outside of ING.

In these roles, you’ll write the value proposition end to end journey while elevating agile delivery practices across Business Banking's Transactional Business Banking and Lending projects by fostering team growth through performance discussions and career development. Your responsibilities will include fostering innovation, championing customer-centric product development, leading sustainability efforts, and overseeing risk management within your domain.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the way in shaping the Business Bank Lending/Transactional Business Banking technology roadmap, collaborating with local and global partners and external third parties.
  • Lead and empower a team of delivery professionals with exceptional expertise to achieve the growth aspirations of Business Banking, whilst developing their careers and supporting a strong “orange” culture of “can-do mentality” and effective collaboration.
  • Drive the agile delivery of cutting-edge capabilities and ongoing enhancements to our operational systems and processes.
  • Stay at the forefront of innovation and progress in our technology landscape.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven (business) banking Transactional Business Banking/Lending product and service experience
  • Demonstrated expertise (6 years+) in marketing, product management, process management, and/or digitisation/automation projects.
  • Ability to articulate strategies, set strategic directions, and prioritise delivery initiatives for optimal time-to-value
  • Demonstrated leadership experience coupled with a strong coaching and development mindset
  • Experience with managing teams of proficient product experts, , Product Owners, designers and tech resources in delivery squads.
  • Track record of success in transformation, digitisation, and operational efficiency programs with a customer-centric approach
  • Experience in leading changes to products and customer journeys for enhanced growth, efficiency, and customer experience
  • Proficiency in resolving complex delivery issues and incident rectification
  • Proven experience engaging and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation, including vendors and strategic partners
