ING, Australia’s most recommended bank is seeking a Senior Manager - Compliance to lead our Integrated Compliance team in Sydney.

The Integrated Compliance team is tasked with executing a range of activities that bolster the efforts of other Compliance units, including Financial Crime Compliance, Conduct, Culture and Ethics, Data Protection Compliance, and Compliance Quality Assurance.

Leading a team of 3, you'll collaborate with and support other Compliance Managers, taking the lead on various tasks such as enhancing compliance efficiencies, conducting compliance risk assessments, developing scenarios, providing training, managing MIS and data analytics, overseeing whistleblowing processes, handling human capital, planning and budgeting, and engaging in business management activities.


It’s a high visibility role with stakeholders in both Australia and Group Head Office in Europe. It would be a great fit for a compliance or risk SME who enjoys a variety of project and implementation type work.

What you’ll do

  • Implementation of processes to support the compliance framework
  • Production of compliance reporting
  • Driving data analytics and insights through innovation
  • Support people-related processes within Compliance
  • Business management support to the Head of Compliance covering functional processes
  • Portfolio and project management over projects impact and/or run by compliance
  • Effective management and coordination across compliance stakeholder requests 

What we’re looking for

  • 7+ years of experience in compliance risk management
  • Experience managing a small team of compliance experts.
  • Adept at proactively identifying and diagnosing compliance-related issues swiftly, while delivering business-oriented solutions.
  • Skilled in presenting and communicating with very executive stakeholders across business.
  • Demonstrate a "can-do" attitude with the capability to devise innovative, "outside-the-box" solutions.
  • A dynamic and resilient leader with a consultative approach, boundless optimism, and high energy
  • Compliance transformation or consulting experience would be highly beneficial
