ING, Australia’s most recommended bank is seeking a Vice President Lending to join our Wholesale Bank based in Sydney. In this role, you will be responsible for working with large corporates primarily across the Commodities, Food beverage and agricultural (FBA) Sector, providing them with our full suite of loan products.

As a Vice President in Lending, you will play a pivotal role in advising and structuring tailored lending solutions as well as executing lending transactions. Additionally, you will support the execution of Financial Markets and Transaction Services products to meet our customers’ needs. As the P&L owner, your duties will include pitching, conducting credit analysis, financial modelling, drafting credit applications, negotiating, and documenting new transactions.

You will cover large Australian corporate clients across mainly Food, Beverage and Agriculture but also other sectors from time to time (construction, services, transport and logistics, metals and mining, manufacturing, electronics, and retail).

What you’ll do

  • Origination and business development with corporate clients including Large Australian diversified corporations (mainly across the FBA industry) and the Australian subsidiaries of ING corporate clients based in Asia, Europe or the US
  • Prepare credit proposals and manage the credit approval process for lending, trade finance and financial market limits
  • Responsible for the negotiation of loan documentation and trade finance documentation with clients, in close collaboration with the coverage team, Risk and Legal
  • Ensure appropriate portfolio management through monitoring of the performance of companies in the portfolio, including identifying Early Warning Signals for a deterioration in credit quality and performing annual reviews
  • Support the coverage team(s) in the deal structuring, origination and business development of lending products
  • Develop creative and effective lending solutions for Corporate Clients and effectively communicate it.
  • Implement our sustainability goals and active balance sheet management.

What we’re looking for

  • 8 years’ + relevant deal- making and credit analysis experience in the banking industry
  • Industry specialism within the Food, Beverage and Agriculture Sector.
  • University degree major in business/economics, law or relevant business discipline
  • Experience in the syndicated loan market as well as executing club deals and bilateral transactions.
  • Strong analytical skills (financial/credit)
  • An eye for detail
  • Strong client focus and proven ability in stakeholder management (both internally and externally)
  • Strong negotiating, relationship management and sales skills.
  • Good presentation skills
