Senior Analyst in ESG Data Analytics

Role & Responsibilities

  • collaborate with stakeholders to understand business problems and requirements,
  • continuously deepen your understanding of ESG-related data,
  • collect, enrich, and analyse data to support ESG initiatives,
  • develop custom data solutions and reports for internal, external, and regulatory purposes,
  • ensure the high quality of data and deliverables,
  • optimize and automate internal data flows and processes,
  • document data lineage, model logic, and processes,
  • become a subject matter expert on assigned initiatives, providing expert knowledge and acting as a go-to person for stakeholders and regulators.

How to succeed

  • at least 3 years of experience working in data analytics or data science within a bank or financial institution,
  • proficiency in data analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data,
  • extensive experience with SQL and SAS/4GL,
  • experience in regulatory reporting (Pillar III, Basel IV),
  • ability to translate business requirements into clear, consistent logic,
  • broad knowledge of data management and data modelling,
  • high level of proactiveness and initiative,
  • strong prioritization and planning skills,
  • collaborative team player, capable of working within and across multiple virtual teams on reporting projects,
  • understanding of Credit Risk/Financial concepts, such as Risk Weighted Assets, Outstanding, Gross Carrying Amount.

The ESG Data Analytics team at is dedicated to providing data-related expertise in the areas of Environmental, Social, and Governance within ING Group. We are actively involved in the preparation, enrichment, and analysis of data to support a wide range of ESG initiatives, reporting, and processes. Our team consists of both business and tech specialists who collaborate to develop complex solutions and deliver comprehensive services to our stakeholders.

As a Senior Data Analyst on our team, you will enhance our data analytics capabilities. You will work closely with team members and stakeholders to identify business needs, understand the data, and create custom data solutions to address ESG-related challenges

The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be "Data Scientist III”.
