We redefine banking. What about you?

ING’s purpose is to empower people to stay a step ahead in life and in business. To continue doing this in a world that is changing quicker than ever before, we need to be where our customers are - on digital platforms. Our own and those of others. Offering a uniform, differentiating ING experience that is instant and borderless. What will our digital future look like? We’re building it right now. And that’s where you come in.

Your work environment

You work in ING’s Open Banking area, created to deliver ING’s Open Banking strategy. Open Banking evolves around Application Programming Interfaces (APIs): a way to easily open-up capabilities and share data. We believe it will help ING to accelerate innovation and collaboration with partners, clients and platforms to improve customer experiences and create new business models. Key to success is our developer portal at developer.ing.com which enables parties to connect and create value in an easy, secure and scalable way.

As a Customer Journey Expert you are responsible for part of Open Banking platform - an enterprise-wide platform capability that supports secure and scalable exchange of data and digital capabilities between ING and our clients and partners.

Your key responsibilities

  • You are the lead CJE for specific user journeys and platform capabilities.
  • You define business requirements in alignment with stakeholders.
  • You co-create, define the value proposition, the product strategy and the roadmap.
  • Together with the platform engineers, business analyst and architect you create and enhance the platform capabilities that enable API Consumer and API Producer Journey to increase API adoption and derive value from data for today’s and tomorrow’s use cases.
  • You work with UX designers to build user flows and design pages and new features.
  • You work with development teams to make your ideas a reality and have a strong ability to communicate requirements and explain your decisions.
  • You manage and contribute to the product backlog of multiple scrum teams.
  • You actively engage with your (potential) users – API Consumers and API Producers - to identify opportunities and requirements. You apply aspects of design thinking to understand their needs, generate ideas and validate solutions.
  • You are the first line of defence and work with risk, compliance and legal stakeholders to identify, assess and manage risks. You apply risk control strategies to manage risks.
  • You coordinate UATs for solutions you came up with.
  • You design and implement business processes.
