Your role

ING Financial Markets Center of Expertise (CoE) Regulatory acts as the Financial Markets (FM) front office single point of access for all the regulatory programs. The CoE will take ownership of our regulatory deliverables, ensures adequate execution together with the main stakeholders, take a pro-active role in identifying regulations which may tangibly impact FM, maintain, and extend relationships with all relevant stakeholders and remain up to date with any new regulations.

The CoE is currently organised around 3 main pillars:

Regulatory Outlook, advice (including external advocacy) and implementation Non Financial Risk and Control Data management

We are looking for a Regulatory affairs specialist in our CoE to support the Regulatory pillar, who has interest and a good understanding of the international regulation, Financial Markets products and is willing to learn to expand the knowledge and expertise around these themes. Experience with implementing regulatory projects is seen as a plus.

The FM Regulatory affairs Specialist:

  • Acts as a partner to the Financial Markets business by providing regulatory support, regulatory insides and advices.
  • Interprets regulatory issues (Financial Markets related) and develops solutions to protect ING, ING FM and its business interests.
  • Develops and improves knowledge in the area of expertise to act as a representative for their specialization across the organization and through industry bodies.
  • Leads multiple regulatory changes/ initiatives and supports management stakeholders and ensures these changes will be implemented based on the correct requirements.

Your key responsibilities

  • You will be made responsible for analysis and implementing upcoming/changing European regulation together with the relevant parts of the business and the Regulatory lead.
  • You will further strengthen the team to provide relevant input to industry bodies for FM related topics/interests.
  • You will position FM regarding upcoming regulation by weighing the interests of ING and all stakeholders.
  • You will support the Regulatory Lead in setting priorities and managing the project dashboard

As a Regulatory affairs Specialist you will also need:

  • Educated in relevant Business and/or Legal studies
  • Experience with Financial Markets and (European) regulation (10years+)
  • Knowledge of Public Affairs/Regulatory affairs (within Europe)
  • You are a team player, you trust others and can be trusted
  • Good communication skills (in English), strong communication and presentation skills (telling – selling) across different skill and seniority levels
  • Project management skills
  • You strive to bring fresh ideas to life and embrace challenges in a fast changing and complex regulatory environment
  • You are an energetic, motivating person who can work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • You work independently, think and act out of the box and take accountability
