Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank’s gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

Your role

The Financial Markets Mid-Corporate Sales desk is the first point of contact for our Business Banking clients and colleagues. As FM sales you are responsible to build strong external relationships with our FX clients, internal relationships with senior management and to structure new transactions.

As FM sales you need to have knowledge about banking ecosystems and client value propositions. You will be in the frontline of our business, and not only act as contact for our clients, but also as a strategic sparring partner for our internal stakeholders. Within the bank these are: the NL regions, Risk, Lending, Compliance, Legal and Strategic Products. In addition, you will be responsible to manage and supervise the (FX & IR) business in a compliant way to protect ING against any operational and reputational risks.

As FM sales you support the Desk Lead and the senior sales by the full transition to an environment in which we sell mainly complex, non-flow and loan linked / strategic products. You support the seniors at the desk on daily client needs, onboardings and the execution of trades. You will be supervised by senior colleagues and also supervised by the desk lead to become an expert in this field.

Your key responsibilities, You…

  • Are responsible to pro-actively monitor our electronic FX flow via our new AI tool and subsequently contact clients by phone, all to improve customer experience and optimize return for ING Business Banking;
  • Support Senior Sales and Desk Head on the day-to-day client activities;
  • Create & maintain commercial content (PowerPoint) for the desk to liaise with clients on industry  developments like sustainability, regulation and innovation.
  • Support the team to improve and maximize the cross-buy of FM solutions.
  • Are pro-active.
  • Are continuously identify, propose and implement innovative or alternative ideas (via Risk Analytics) to improve the customer journey and/or the ING Business Banking value proposition.
  • Maintain relationships with other FM stakeholders like Legal, Compliance, Risk.
  • Operate under our KYC guidelines and ING Orange Code.

Candidate Profile

  • Experienced Financial Markets professional, academic working/thinking level (degree in economics, and/or CFA or equivalent Bachelor/Master’s degree)
  • Language skills Dutch & English, both written and verbal
  • 3-5 years of experience in FX Flow and FX Options
  • Strong commercial skills (this applies to both internal and external contacts)
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to translate client challenges into product driven solutions / pitches
  • Strong PowerPoint / Excel skillset
  • Solid knowledge of Financial Markets and related instruments / products is considered essential
  • Genuine team player with a pro-active, customer-focused, deal oriented drive
  • Positive attitude, assertive and “can do” mind-set
  • Self-starting, hands-on, pragmatic and able to support, explain and stimulate growth in others
  • Strong capability to initiate and build long term sustainable client relationships (internally/externally)
  • E-Driven mentality and strong analytical skillset
