As Talent & Learning Program Manager you operate at the center of ING's Netherlands based Talent & Learning (T&L) team. The mandate of the Talent & Learning team is to ensure we can attract, develop, engage and retain the most talented individuals and help them grow and develop with us. Our job is to unlock our people's potential, across all domains in the Netherlands.  

The team

You will report directly to Órla Rodgers: Global Head of talent: Retail & NL and you will work in close partnership with the different teams both within our Netherlands T&L as well as in the broader Global HR domain: 

  • Our Talent & Leadership team, responsible for talent visibility, talent attraction and defining what it means to be an ING leader 
  • Our Growth & Careers team, in charge of talent development and career opportunities 
  • Our Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging team, focusing on structural and behavioural change. 
  • Our HR NL Leadership Team, focusing on setting and executing our people priorities.  

The Talent & Learning team has an ambitious change agenda. We’re taking a fresh approach to how we gain global and country visibility of our talent, how we more structurally grow and develop our people and how we create an environment that is inclusive and where all of us feel we belong. 

Roles & responsibilities

  • Program management of all products and (learning) solutions that are employee facing and will be launched in the business. Create a roadmap with timelines and ensure a coherent employee story linked to our HR vision and strategy.
  • Run HR wide projects aligned to highest strategic priorities of the NL talent agenda.
  • Drives timely execution of HR priorities across functions within HR, business and Global where needed
  • Change management & Execution for programs launched by the wider HRNL team
  • Implement the formal development framework for a team, with guidance from senior colleagues. Provide informal coaching to others throughout the organization in area of expertise.
  • Use data from the organization health index and a wide range of sources to analyze key themes and identify possible impacts on the business.
  • Draft HR frameworks and tools within an area of expertise to meet business needs, ensuring compliance with specified design principles, internal policies, and external legal requirements.
  • Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving complex or contentious queries and issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions.
  • Manage relationships with internal clients and act as a business partner to them, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and managing the deployment of appropriate internal and/or external resources to support in delivering business strategy and plans.
  • Monitor and review performance and behaviors within area of responsibility to identify and resolve non- compliance with the organization's policies and relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct.
  • Develop procedures and interprets and applies policy for area of expertise to achieve specified outputs, or advise the wider business on application of policy, then monitor implementation of those procedures within the organization.

How to succeed 

To play your part in our CoE T&L you ideally bring: 

  • A growth mindset and a ‘can do’ solutions oriented focus.  

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and ability to diagnose, design and implement innovative, business relevant and employee focused solutions that deliver real results. 

  • Program/project management experience with ability to balance multiple projects in various stages of design and delivery. 

  • Ability to analyse trends and innovations in and outside the financial industry as well as throughout the area of expertise.

  • Affinity with numbers and data and a good understanding on how data analysis and reporting support building better people solutions.

  • Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. For example, tailors communication content and style to the needs of others across a wide stakeholder landscape.

  • Knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement. For example, pays close attention to a variety of metrics and benchmarks; determines both major and subtle ways to optimize processes. Swiftly resolves process breakdowns; takes steps to ensure that problems do not recur.

  • Prepares data from complex applications and messy data sources, actively builds solutions for others to use. Takes responsibility to build solutions for any identified errors, educates and shares fixes with others.
