Restructuring & Recovery Specialist (Intensief Beheer)

Apply now

We are looking for a Restructuring & Recovery Specialist within The Regional Restructuring Unit Netherlands’ (“Intensief Beheer” (IB)) Sector Team, which is responsible for clients of ING’s Business Banking - and Private Banking portfolio. This is a challenging opportunity for someone with up to 5 years of relevant experience to join our team in Amsterdam.

The team

The Regional Restructuring Unit Netherlands (“Intensief Beheer” (IB)) is part of the Tribe Credit Risk Management (CRM), which is part of the Risk Organization (CRO) within the Domestic Bank NL. IB is responsible for a safe, compliant and data driven Problem Loan Management process by managing loan loss provisioning, finding solutions for clients in financial difficulty and by closing the learning loop on lessons learned.

IB carefully and actively focuses on minimizing losses for both our customers and ING. We are committed to preserve the principal, maximize recovery and develop a strategy which best benefits ING Bank and its clients. As part of the Problem Loan Management process we ensure safe and compliant data.

Role and responsibilities

Together with other Restructuring & Recovery Specialists you work in a team that has focus on one or more specific sectors. You manage your own portfolio of problem loan clients to preserve principal, maximize recovery and develop a strategy which best benefits ING Bank and its clients. Clients under management come from Business Banking and Private Banking and have a lending exposure of EUR 1 million to EUR 20 million.

As a part of a restructuring or recovery process, you advise and report on appropriate loan loss provisioning in compliance with the legal and regulatory frameworks to safeguard the reputation of ING and minimizing financial costs to the organization. Where needed, you support projects around (regulatory) reporting on non-performing loan portfolio or other relevant projects. And you contribute to Lessons Learned presentations in- and outside IB. Next to that you are expected to contribute and make impact on change initiatives of the tribe.

Your work environment

As Restructuring & Recovery Specialist you take a coordinating approach during the restructuring- and recovery process, with frequent meetings with clients and other relevant stakeholders.

Files under our responsibility have a wide range of challenges and complexity. Varying from large to small, from complex to less complex, usually with very committed and (emotionally) involved clients and other stakeholders.

Furthermore, in your role you will be involved in one or more projects, where, despite different possible interests, it is important to make joint progress and achieve results with impact.

Therefore, your working environment is challenging and dynamic in which the IB Restructuring & Recovery Specialist is responsible for connecting with – and coordination between - internal and external stakeholders.
