As a Strategic Market Analysis Intern, you'll dive deep into the evolving world of third pillar pensions, uncovering insights that could shape ING’s next big product. The team
Your part of the product team for Pension Investing within the department of Investments. With the team we develop new pension investing propositions. To realise our propositions we collaborate with many other teams within and outside our department.

Roles and responsibilities
Join the pension investing team as a market research intern and help analyse opportunities for a new pay-out product in the third pillar pension market.

  • Conduct Competitor Benchmarking
    Identify and analyse key competitors offering pay-out products for third pillar pensions. Evaluate product features, pricing structures, and unique selling points, and summarize findings in a clear comparative table.
  • Perform Market Size and Trend Analysis
    Research the current and projected size of the third pillar pension market in the Netherlands using reliable sources. Identify key trends and growth opportunities over the next 5–10 years.
  • Estimate Business Potential
    Assess ING’s potential market share and revenue opportunities for a competitive pay-out product. Incorporate insights from customer demographics, economic conditions, and regulatory factors.
  • Develop a Preliminary Business Case
    Synthesize research findings into a structured business case for launching a pay-out product. Highlight strategic advantages, potential challenges, and align with ING’s existing pension investment strategy.

Ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions to support strategic decision-making.

Skilled in gathering and synthesizing information from various sources such as industry reports, financial publications, and competitor data.

  • Attention to Detail

Capable of producing accurate, well-structured analyses and comparative tables with a high level of precision.

  • Communication Skills

Strong written and verbal communication to clearly present findings, insights, and recommendations in reports and business cases.
