Backend Developer (Node.js)

We are looking for you, if you:

  • you are a hardcore JavaScript developer who has experience with NodeJS and other programming languages,
  • you're familiar with CI/CD pipelines,
  • you have a learning attitude,
  • you have analytical approach to problem solving,
  • you are a strong team player with very good communication skills,
  • you are able to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.

You'll get extra points for:

  • you have experience with scripting languages and automation of manual activities (e.g. testing, deployment),
  • you have basic knowledge and experience in Agile (ex. Scrum methodology),
  • you speak up, are transparent and not shy to stand up for your own opinions,
  • you have an instinctive need to share knowledge and continuously improve yourself and the team.

Your responsibilities:

  • 70% - Coding, implementation, improvement and management, testing,
  • 20% -  Supporting, daily operation and application monitoring,
  • 10% - Meetings (Scrum events).

Information about the squad:

The main aim of our area is to create a landing page for all ING developers. This page will help them organize their products, visualize dependencies, and interact easily with other services within ING from a single location. This landing page is the Backstage@ING platform, based on an open-source solution. Additionally, while developing the platform, we aim to contribute back to the open-source solution.

Your new squad will cooperate directly with the Backstage Core team. The main goal of the squad is to create and maintain templates, plugins, and automated processes that comply with ING standards on the Backstage@ING platform.

The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be “Engineer III”.
