Job Overview
The Data Protection Professional is expected to implement the Data Protection Frameworks to support ING entities in end-to-end data protection activities. The Data Protection Professional is part of the Data Management team within Data and Analytics and is expected to be able to interact with global colleagues and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive implementation of the Process Control Standard for Data Protection and Data Management Frameworks
  • Monitoring compliance with the Global Personal Data Protection (GPDP) Internal Policy and Process Control Standard and the Global Record Retention and Deletion Framework
  • Support ING business management to identify, assess, judge and address, data ethical dilemmas
  • Track and drive execution of GPDP related activities within the BU, taking care of regular scheduled activities and meetings
  • Functional alignment with ownership of the local data DPE-Office employees and helping BU’s to close risk issues
  • Providing support for all responsible in 1st line data protection in the bus ness lines and support functions, maintaining relationships with relevant 2nd line stakeholders
  • Complete/maintain information asset register, data privacy impact assessments and data classification reporting
  • Manage data breach notification and the resolution and remedial action of all data protection incidents and report these where appropriate to the (local) NFRC and Bank Data Protection Officer

Key Capabilities/Experience

  • Knowledgeable in data protection principles, specifically related to the GDPR
  • Knowledgeable in the implementation of data protection measures in an international corporate setting
  • Data analysis capabilities, including gap analysis and identification of opportunities to improve processes
  • Coordination and facilitation capabilities to support and guide global colleagues in different departments and teams for local implementation
  • Experienced in program management in an international context
  • Results Orientation as evidenced by a track record of delivering solutions which routinely exceed the business process expectations

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years relevant work experience in privacy or data protection
  • Must have an understanding and experience in the area of data management and/or IT with knowledge of Policy formation and knowledge of data protection and data ethics knowledge of data management and affinity with Information Technologies
  • Excellent English language skills both spoken and written are required
