First Line Controls & Risk Support Expert

The resource will join the COE Strategy and Business Effectiveness, in the First Line Controls & Risk Support team dedicated to performing first-level controls to monitor the operations of distribution networks in order to intercept any abnormal behaviors and operations. Additionally, they will support the second lines and the business in risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze and investigate the operations carried out by distribution networks through the use of monitoring tools (anomaly indicators) in order to intercept abnormal behaviors and operations related to the activities performed and, if necessary, the various company functions in case of need for further investigation.

  • Collect and analyze information flows from different areas of the Bank to expand the information set available to ensure effective monitoring of the networks.
  • Contribute to the continuous updating and maintenance of monitoring tools and, more generally, the control system with the support of the second lines.
  • Prepare and update first-level control procedures on distribution networks.
  • Prepare the necessary documentation to periodically inform the relevant corporate bodies about the results of monitoring and remedial actions taken.
  • Carry out investigative activities in response to reports of abnormal operations or behaviors directly or indirectly related to subjects belonging to the distribution networks, or in response to risk elements that emerged during periodic monitoring activities.
  • Support the Manager in relations with corporate bodies or disciplinary committees.
  • Extract data related to daily control activities.
  • Constantly analyze controls to improve effectiveness and designs new controls.
  • Issue and event management

Educational/Professional background:

  • University degree in Finance, Business Administration or Economics.
  • Work experience:  3-5 years in similar roles
  • Banking background desired (experience in international banks or distribution networks is an advantage)

Skills required:

  • Excel – Advanced (PIVOT, XLOOKUP, COUNT. IF, GRAPH CONSTRUCTION)
  • PowerPoint  – Intermediate\Advanced
  • SAS – Basic/ Intermediate (is a plus)
  • Power BI – (is a plus)
  • Access – (is a plus)

  • Investigative attitude and in-depth knowledge of different control methodologies

  • Well organized and flexible - capable to define priorities and cope with a changing environment
  • Has good interpersonal/team working skills
  • Eager to learn
  • Fluent in English
  • Accurate with numbers
