Singapore is the regional headquarters for ING's Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia, which includes all WB business lines such as Financial Markets, Strategic Products, Sectors, Lending and Transaction Services and other support functions.

What does the Corporate Sector Lending (“CSL”) Team do in ING?

The CSL team is under Transaction Management, which is part of ING’s Wholesale Bank (“WB”) Lending. CSL provides a spectrum of lending products to clients across Asia.  Our clients include some of the largest names in diverse sectors, including manufacturing, construction, e-commerce, energy, fintechs, conglomerates and investment holding companies.  We support and work closely with Relationship Managers and/or Deal Principals by doing end to end execution of lending transactions.  We are also responsible for the portfolio management of our loan portfolio.  The work will be fast-paced and multifaceted.

What would you be doing?

  • Support the CSL team in evaluating credit risk, including financial, business and industry risk, of our large corporate clients in Asia.

  • Input client data in our internal financial analysis and risk rating systems.

  • Portfolio management including preparing overdue credit and rating reports, overdue covenant reports, and other ad hoc reports.

  • Be involved in projects.

  • Building and updating financial models.

  • Preparation of marketing materials for clients.

What qualities, skills and other criteria are we looking for?

We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria: 

  • You should have legal work rights in the country of internship.

  • Good working knowledge of excel, powerpoint and word.

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, and able to update and build financial models.

  • Knowledge of accounting would be very helpful.

  • Collaborative and inclusive team player.

  • Committed and dedicated individual.

What would you gain from this internship?

Strengthen your analytical and financial analysis skills, and learn how to evaluate credit risk. Improve your interpersonal skills as we liase with different internal and external stake holders.

This is an opportunity to gain credit knowledge in a fast paced environment, gaining exposure to live deals, that would be a helpful foundation for a career in the financial industry.
