We're looking for an experienced Credit Assessor to join our Commercial Lending team. In this role, you'll assess complex commercial lending applications, make sound credit decisions within delegated authority, and work closely with brokers, customers and internal stakeholders to deliver great outcomes. You'll join a supportive team with a stable workflow, where attention to detail, sound judgement and strong stakeholder management are highly valued.

This is a permanent role based in Sydney.

What you’ll do

  • Applying sound credit and risk judgement in the assessment of New commercial lending applications, Annual Reviews, End of Term Maturities and Variations. Within your Delegated Lending Authority
  • Analyse customer financial information, security positions, valuations and supporting documentation to determine creditworthiness.
  • Identify risks and proactively structure or repackage deals to achieve appropriate lending outcomes.
  • Communicate decisions, requirements and next steps clearly to brokers, customers and key stakeholders.
  • Escalate applications outside your authority level with well-prepared recommendations and supporting rationale.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with ING credit policies, risk frameworks and service standards.

What we’re looking for

  • Recent experience in commercial credit assessment within banking or financial services.
  • Previous Delegated Lending Authority (DLA) of at least $1 million in commercial lending.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending practices, credit risk assessment, policy interpretation and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience assessing commercial mortgage applications and working with complex lending scenarios.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exposure to other lending products such as unsecured lending, business banking or residential mortgages will be viewed favourably.
