As our Senior Product Owner, you’ll play a pivotal and leading role within the Finance Transformation team, shaping and driving the integrated finance roadmap across process, tactical, and strategic dimensions. You’ll be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of finance capabilities, including local execution, and will lead the development and implementation of scalable, high-impact transformation initiatives. This includes managing budgets, clear requirement setting, benefits realisation, and business case delivery to ensure measurable value outcomes.

Additionally, you’ll establish robust delivery mechanisms that foster team and individual accountability, while continuously managing and refining the transformation backlog in alignment with evolving priorities and enterprise-wide improvements. Your influence will extend across bank-wide programs, where you will represent Finance to our delivery stakeholders. This to manage interdependencies for the finance change agenda, ensuring alignment and advocacy for Finance’s objectives.

This is a permanent role based in Sydney.


What you’ll do

  • Drive and evolve the integrated Finance Transformation Change delivery roadmap, aligning process, tactical, and strategic initiatives with ING’s LEAP strategy and enterprise priorities.
  • Lead the execution of end-to-end delivery of finance change initiatives, including requirements, production deployment, and release coordination. This in coordination with Finance, Risk, Tech, and Data teams
  • Execute the Finance Transformation change delivery strategy, aligning process, tactical, and strategic initiatives with ING’s LEAP strategy and enterprise priorities.
  • Support and oversee requirement setting and business analysis and the priorities thereof, translating the strategic goals into actionable features and measurable outcomes Coach teams and stakeholders to adopt new ways of working, driving a culture of continuous improvements while embedding transformation outcomes.
  • Oversee and support business risk documentation, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and alignment with internal policies and regulatory expectations.
  • In conjunction with Technology. ensure that Finance assets and products have well-defined and lifecycle management

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in a similar role with a strong focus on Finance Transformation within the banking industry. 
  • A high level of Product and project management and delivery experience.  
  • A sound understanding of Finance processes and IT delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and management skills. 
  • Previous experience coaching and mentoring team members, as well as cross functional stakeholders, would be highly regarded.
