As the Internal Communications, Learning & Engagement (HR4HR) Intern, you will help inform, connect, and inspire our HR community of 200+ colleagues. You’ll support the Business Manager to the HR Director for NL in delivering communication, learning, and engagement initiatives that bring HR professionals together and boost overall engagement.

This internship gives you the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in internal communications, event organisation, project management, and community building. You’ll contribute to meaningful projects, learn from experienced colleagues, and shape activities that make HR a great place to work.

The team

You will be part of the HR Netherlands (HR NL) community, working closely with:

  • The Business Manager to the HR Director NL (who you’ll be reporting to)
  • The HR Business Partner for HR
  • Members of the HR Leadership Team (HRLT)
  • HR colleagues across different teams and expertise areas

The HR NL community is open, collaborative, and people‑focused. We value learning, curiosity, collaboration, and a “let’s make it happen” mindset.

Key Responsibilities

As the Internal Communications, Learning & Engagement (HR4HR) you’ll be responsible for four main areas:

Learning

  • Organise the quarterly HR Learning Days for the HR NL community
  • Support the end‑to‑end HR Learning Agenda and drive learning initiatives
  • Bring fresh ideas to strengthen our learning culture and improve the learning experience

Engagement

  • Prepare and co‑create monthly HR Town Halls
  • Co‑lead the organisation of OneHR Day, our yearly event that brings all HR colleagues together
  • Contribute to initiatives that support the HR NL Engagement Strategy

Communication

  • Lead the writing, development, and distribution of the monthly HR NL community newsletter
  • Strengthen our communications by improving clarity, engagement, and storytelling

Continuous Improvement

  • Implement feedback loops to measure the effectiveness of our learning, engagement, and communication activities
  • Propose improvements that help professionalise and streamline our ways of working across these three pillars

How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.

The following skills and experience will be needed to succeed in this role:

  • Getting things done: you deliver high‑quality results
  • Working independently: you can manage your own tasks and priorities
  • Taking initiative: you act autonomously and spot opportunities to improve things
  • Effective communication: clear writing, strong messaging, and adaptable tone
  • PowerPoint skills: ability to create engaging slides
  • Project management: you enjoy planning, organising, and coordinating activities
  • Background in HR or Communications is helpful, but not required

Above all: you’re enthusiastic, action‑oriented, and eager to learn.
