Apply now

At ING, we believe it's your ideas, not your age that matter.

Join our Commercial Cards team and help shape the future of corporate payments. You will work at the intersection of sales, data, and innovation, supporting a growing business that helps multinational and large corporate clients digitise, control, and optimise employee spending. From analysing sales opportunities to improving internal workflows, you will contribute directly to business growth while gaining exposure to one of the fastest-evolving areas in payments.

The Team

The Commercial Cards team is part of Transaction Services within ING Wholesale Banking. We help corporate clients improve control over business expenses, increase operational efficiency, and gain better insights into spending through innovative card solutions.

Our clients range from large domestic companies to multinational organisations operating across multiple countries. You will work primarily with our senior sales experts, giving you a unique insight into how payment solutions are sold, implemented, and managed within a leading international bank.

This internship offers an excellent opportunity to learn about corporate payments, card economics, data analysis, and commercial banking while contributing to real business objectives.

Role and responsibilities

You will support the Commercial Cards team in growing the business and improving the way we work. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Coordinating internal projects aimed at improving efficiency, data quality, and workflow management.
  • Performing data analysis on sales performance, pipeline development, client activity, and portfolio trends.
  • Supporting sales colleagues with client pitches, presentations, proposals, and commercial opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities to optimise and automate sales support and reporting processes.
  • Analysing client data and preparing commercial insights to support client discussions.

How to succeed

To take on this challenging and rewarding opportunity, you'll need:

  • Bachelor or Master's student with a background in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in payments, financial services, fintech, or transaction banking.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Power BI or data visualisation tools is a plus.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to challenge existing processes and propose improvements.
  • Fluency in English.

Rewards and benefits

This is a great opportunity to train with highly skilled people who are experts in their field. You’ll do a lot and learn a lot – not only about your specialist area and the bank, but also about yourself and whether this type of environment is right for you.

You’ll also benefit from:

  • Internship allowance of 700 EUR based on a 36 hours work week
  • Your own work laptop
  • Hybrid working to blend home working for focus and office working for collaboration and co-creation
  • Personal growth and challenging work with endless possibilities
  • An informal working environment with innovative colleagues
