A day in the life of a International Payments Pricing Model Data Analyst 

  • Understand the International Payments (TIP) product, fee structure; and the challenge with perceived high fees and the current structural decline in TIP volumes.  
  • Process historical TIP data on volumes, fees, cost, customer segment, currencies, correspondent country, FX rates, … (on customer level where required).  
  • Model the evolution of the TIP volumes to provide the evolution projections. Create a decision support model based on historical data and market data, on the forecasted International Payments transactions & volumes of the ING different customer segments. Perform commercial scenario simulations on the International Payments volumes (variance transaction fees, currency exchange fees, execution time, currency offering, …) to support the commercial strategy on International Payments – providing Transaction volumes, amounts, costs, fees evolutions.  
  • Data & AI driven forecasting & recommendations (with different pricing, fee, exchange rate, …) to support management decision-making on the TIP commercial strategy. 
  • The resulting scenario’s will be immediately tested in campaigns to process the evolution of transactions and fee income compared to the forecasted evolutions.

  • Through analytical skills are required to understand the TIP data 
  • Also data & AI modelling for forecasting and simulation models with different TIP transaction parameters. 
  • We count on a proactive attitude and data expert maturity to jointly with the TIP experts ensure the model captures all required aspects to be representative for the experienced customer behaviour.  
  • This person should be able to translate analysis into management recommendations for the Sr Mgr stakeholders.  
  • Clearly explain findings, assumptions and limits 
  • Translate data insights into concrete, actionable proposals 
  • Present conclusions in a concise and management-ready format 

As a International Payments Pricing Model Data Analyst, you will have the opportunity to: 

  • Exposure to Sr Mgt decision making 
  • Contribution to developing the BE TIP Commercial strategy 
  • Contribute to present and explain the developed approach the other top 5 TIP volume ING countries (NL, DE, …) 

The team 

You will be part of the ING Payments TIP Business team. Which is a small team with internal and external TIP experts ensuring the ING BE TIP services. You’ll will work closely with these experts to ensure you have a quick understanding of the TIP business. You’ll be responsible for your analysis and to propose the way forward, with close coaching by the team lead and experts. But you work independent and take accountability for the set-up of the data analysis, and best approach to come to the Commercial Strategy recommendations.  

You’ll regularly update Payments Management, and Sr Mgrs responsible from the Commercial Customer Segments (Private Individual, Business Customers, Wholesale customers, Personal & Private Banking), on progress, or required decisions in the way forward.
