The Mission

Wholesale Banking is starting a new strategic initiative: the Employee Permissions application. The goal is to build a centralized solution used by Wholesale Banking domains to manage employee permissions for data, documents and business journeys.

The new application will provide capabilities for team management, role management, data-scope and functional-scope permissions, and will be consumed by other WB systems for data shielding and unified access rights.

This is a new product, which means the squad will be involved from the beginning: shaping the technical foundation, delivery pipelines, monitoring, operational model, security controls and production readiness.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with strong engineering mindset, hands-on automation skills and the ambition to grow. The role is suitable for someone with minimum 3 years of experience who already takes ownership, works independently on technical improvements and has the potential to become a senior engineer within the next year.

Your Day to Day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when it comes to tasks.

You will:

  • Take responsibility for application environments across Development, Test, Acceptance and Production.
  • Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and related tooling.
  • Automate deployments, configuration, operational checks, monitoring setup, environment provisioning and repetitive operational activities.
  • Support the development and extension of a new platform built around APIs, backend services and integrations with other Wholesale Banking systems.
  • Work closely with Java backend, frontend, PO, CJE, architects and Chapter Lead to define technical requirements and production-readiness criteria.
  • Ensure that security, resilience, stability, performance and observability are considered from the beginning of the application lifecycle.
  • Contribute to lifecycle management of platform components, including operating system, middleware, databases, certificates, access configuration, vulnerability analysis and patching.
  • Improve application monitoring and alerting using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK / centralized logging or similar.
  • Support High Availability and Disaster Recovery preparation, testing and documentation.
  • Contribute to IT Risk and security controls, making sure they are implemented, documented and kept up to date.
  • Investigate issues, understand root causes and propose durable technical solutions.
  • Take ownership of operational improvements and see them through to completion, including proper handover and documentation.
  • Assist with technical specifications for change requests and user stories.
  • Analyze requirements and define their applicability inside the technical environment.
  • Work on technical improvements such as automation, monitoring, pipeline optimization, environment setup, security hardening and deployment reliability.
  • Participate in Agile / Scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement, demos and discovery sessions.
