We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub, then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies. Now we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca

Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1800 colleagues active in Data Management, Touchpoint Channels & Integration, Core Banking, and Global Products.

We enjoy a flexible way of working and a highly collaborative environment, where fair and constructive feedback is encouraged.

For us, impact isn't a perk. It's the driver of our work. We are guided and rewarded by a shared desire to make the world a better place, one innovative solution at a time. Our colleagues make it their job to do impactful things and they love doing it in good company. Do you?

The Mission

Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank’s gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

The FM> Tribe is the change delivery department of Financial Markets (‘FM’) and Group Treasury (‘GT’), with a purpose to realize our clients’ ambitions by connecting them to global markets, providing financial solutions, and delivering long-lasting value.

You will lead a team of IT Integrators within the Financial Markets and Group Treasury Tribe (FM>). The IT Integrator is a senior role in the tribe, and as a Chapter Lead IT Integrator you will combine people and managerial leadership with strong individual contribution. From a delivery perspective, you will drive large, high‑impact initiatives end‑to‑end, bringing together diverse stakeholders, aligning perspectives, and turning complexity into clear outcomes. Your influence will not come from hierarchy, but from trust, credibility, and the ability to connect people around a shared goal. Success in this role is defined by the results you enable, the collaboration you foster, and the lasting value you create for ING and for the teams you empower.

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. As a Chapter Lead, you will split your time between individual contributor activities and management / people leading activities (hybrid role):

From an individual contributor point of view, you will:

  • Combine market, system, and IT landscape knowledge with product management and business expertise to lead the successful delivery of complex change initiatives.

  • Take ownership of driving complex transformations, demonstrating a strong delivery mindset and focus on achieving results.

  • Define, align, and maintain cross‑squad roadmaps, ensuring clear ownership and proactive management of dependencies across teams and stakeholders.

  • Establish and maintain effective governance and reporting structures to steer progress across multiple teams and stakeholders.

  • Guide and challenge squads and stakeholders in making sound implementation decisions, balancing technical, business, and operational considerations.

  • Work effectively within truly cross‑functional environments, collaborating closely with engineers, senior leaders, and colleagues from diverse disciplines to align around shared goals and maximize collective expertise.

  • Navigate complex organizational dynamics, including policies, processes, and people‑related challenges, with confidence and pragmatism.

  • Proactively identify and remove impediments, escalating early when needed to avoid delays and keep delivery on track.

  • Coordinate end‑to‑end testing and support the activation and rollout of new IT solutions.

  • Adapt quickly and effectively to changing priorities, environments, and constraints.

  • Work independently and responsibly, ensuring the impact of testing and delivery decisions is fully understood and addressed.

  • Continuously improve ways of working within the Tribe, fostering a positive, safe environment where teams can learn from experimentation, feedback, and mistakes.

  • Build trust and credibility through honesty, integrity, and authentic leadership.

  • Actively pursue personal and professional growth, using both formal and informal development opportunities.

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of core IT concepts and maintain in‑depth knowledge of the broader IT landscape.

From a managerial / people leader point of view, you will:

  • Work closely with IT Integrators, Test Managers, CJEs, Product Owners, Product Managers, Change Leads, Project Managers, Program Managers, Product Area Leads, Chapter Leads, and IT Area Leads to continuously improve ways of working, increase process maturity, and enable effective knowledge sharing across teams.

  • Foster a strong continuous delivery culture, promoting high‑quality services, sustainable ways of working, and healthy working conditions.

  • Coach and mentor team members, being accessible, supportive, and genuinely invested in their professional aspirations and development.

  • Provide ongoing, constructive feedback through regular one‑on‑one conversations.

  • Actively support career growth by identifying development opportunities, learning needs, and relevant assignments within and beyond current initiatives.

  • Acknowledge and celebrate both individual and team achievements and contributions.

  • Inspire, motivate, and engage the team by leading by example and acting as a role model.

  • Proactively remove impediments that hinder the team’s ability to achieve its goals.

  • Take a strategic view on chapter growth, identifying opportunities to strengthen functional expertise, technical capabilities, delivery ownership, and autonomy within the wider Tribe.

  • Build and nurture a strong IT Integrators community, encouraging collaboration, learning, and shared ownership.

  • Grow the team through recruitment activities, including functional and HR interviews, working closely with recruitment partners to attract, onboard, and retain top talent.
