HR Business Partner

Senior HRBP | HR | Experienced | Belgium | Brussels | GJA 19

Your role & work environment

As HR Business Partner, you shape and drive the domain’s people and organization agenda. Partnering with senior leaders, you translate business strategy into people and organization priorities. Your area of attention within ING is the Risk Business Line.

You are part of HR Belgium’s business partnering team, bringing the business perspective into HR and working closely with HR expertise teams and People Services to connect people solutions, operational support and data insights with the domain’s needs.

As regulation, technology and capability needs evolve, you help the business domain build a sustainable workforce while maintaining a strong culture.

Your key responsibilities

  • Translate business priorities into a forward-looking people and organization agenda, anticipating the implications of regulation, technology, AI and ways of working.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and constructive challenger, bringing an independent people, workforce and organizational perspective to strategic decisions.
  • Lead strategic workforce planning: assess future capacity, skills, roles and workforce composition against current supply, identify gaps and develop scenarios and actions to recruit, reskill, redeploy, access expertise or automate work.
  • Use people data and insights to diagnose challenges and inform decisions across talent, succession, recruitment and learning.
  • Shape organizational design and effectiveness, including operating models, structures, roles, accountabilities, governance, spans and layers, to improve efficiency and collaboration.
  • Lead the people dimension of transformations, balancing business outcomes, workforce sustainability and employee experience, from design through implementation.
  • Coach senior leaders and leadership teams to strengthen leadership effectiveness, collaboration and a culture of sustainable performance and sound risk management.
  • Drive talent, succession, performance, reward and engagement processes, with attention to critical roles, future capabilities and leadership continuity.
  • Mobilize HR expertise, adapt global and local people solutions to business needs and ensure clear ownership, transparent progress and sustainable execution.
  • Bring business needs and insights into the broader HR leadership agenda and strengthen strategic business partnering across HR Belgium.

What we’re looking for

  • Significant experience in senior HR business partnering or strategic people and organization advisory roles, with broad expertise across talent, succession, performance, leadership, reward and engagement.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in organizational design, with the ability to translate recommendations into practical changes and lead implementation.
  • Strong strategic workforce planning experience, translating business strategy into future workforce and capability requirements and actionable interventions. You use data to diagnose issues and develop scenarios.
  • Credibility to advise and constructively challenge senior leaders, with strong influencing, facilitation and communication skills and the ability to mobilise expertise across a matrix organization.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand business priorities, bring structure to ambiguity and balance long-term direction with pragmatic execution. Experience in financial services, a regulated environment, consulting or organization/workforce transformation is an asset.
  • A university degree or equivalent level of working and thinking, with at least 8 years of relevant experience in HR, organizational development or consulting, including substantial experience advising senior leaders and driving complex people and organization initiatives.
  • Fluency in English and good knowledge of Dutch and/or French.

What we offer

You will benefit from:

  • A meaningful role with visible impact on the people and organization agenda.
  • A competitive salary package and a wide range of flexible benefits.
  • Extensive learning and development opportunities to deepen your expertise in strategic HR business partnering.
  • Challenging projects in organizational design, workforce planning and transformation, working closely with senior leaders.
  • A collaborative HR environment where expertise, initiative and continuous learning are encouraged.
