Job Overview

  • Control Hub Manila administer the registration, monitoring and closure of issues and events on behalf of First Line Management of ING around the globe. We contribute to the risk management practices of the bank thru timely registration and closure, data quality effectiveness, and accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance from the global policies of issue and event management processes.
  • You will be part of the EIM team comprising pool of officers and you will be reporting to a service delivery lead.
  • Your role entails interacting with stakeholders from different countries around the globe

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue Management
    • Assessing and validating reported issue if it meets the registration criteria, if it affects multiple location for Issues impacting multiple entities, reviewing inputs of the mandatory fields, including linking the issue to a relevant risk
    • Obtaining approval from the Monitoring Entity prior to issue registration
    • Ensuring Issue Owner, the Person to Act (PTA) and the ME are clarified and identified through reach out to Entity
    • Daily monitoring of any updates
    • Reviewing and assessing data quality and completeness of information, and if needed reaching out to the PTA or Issue owner or ME for clarification
    • Performing the following activities:
    • Reviewing of mandatory fields including remediation plan to ensure inputs are present and saved
    • Performing a check to ensure actions are present as agreed with the issue owner
    • Supporting Issue Owner through the daily monitoring of any updates
    • Collecting of evidence to move the issue to closure and submitting the issue for closure attaching all required evidence that support the action
    • Drafting the Issue Closure Form (memo) and validating by Issue Owner
    • Requesting and sending follow-up notice for additional information and/or required evidence to register and/or for the purpose of closure
    • Ensuring the adequacy of investigation, following up on open and accepted issues, and timely updating the recording of information
  • Event Management
    • Assessment and validation of reported events if it meets the registration criteria including identifying if it satisfies the immediate events criteria, reviewing all information, including linking the event to a relevant risk
    • Ensuring the Event owner and the ME are clarified and identified through reach out to location and reaching out to ensure details of corrective measures, and root-cause are present and that the data quality is achieved
    • Requesting and sending follow-up notice for additional information and/or required evidence to register and/or for the purpose of closure
    • Ensuring adequacy of investigation, following up on open events, and timely updating the recording of information
    • Notifying all relevant parties concerned (Event Owner, PTA, ME) regarding the registration of event and or for any additional information or follow-up needed
    • Reviewing content and soundness of the presented root-cause analysis' outcome and of the lessons learned analysis' outcome
    • Sending reminder and follow-up to obtain the quarterly confirmation of Non-Financial risk events breaching the minimum threshold

Key Capabilities/Experience

  • Independently administer EIM responsibilities with minimal supervision which would mean with thorough understanding of risk, controls relationship, and the reputational and regulatory impact of each issue and events.
  • Independently navigate through a large and complex organization through resourcefulness, meaningful inquiry, and critical thinking. Experience showcasing project management is an advantage.
  • Work with various application systems and able to spot risks that come with the

use of those systems and the controls that should be in place

  • Continuously generate improvement ideas. Completing white belt projects with related FTE saves is an advantage.
  • Work with basic MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) in documenting your work. Experience with advanced tools like power automate or Power BI is an advantage.
  • CIA/CPA certification is an advantage.
  • 2 years of experience in external or internal audit or a similar nature is an advantage

Minimum Qualifications

  • Has performed issues or events management registration, monitoring and closure
  • Good understanding of risk and controls concept
  • Good communicator (both verbal and written)
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Able to navigate through ambiguity while resisting stress and maintaining composure
  • Deliver commitments in a timely manner
  • Comfortable with daily task tracking
  • Comfortable with doing tasks outside normal job responsibilities (stretch goals)
